It never ceases to amaze me how friggen loud college dorms can be. At Stony Brook, a school that i is known for its science and technology schools, I don't understand why they can't build dorm rooms with thicker walls so students no longer have to hear the music of their neighbor. Or why Stony Brook can't figure out dorms that don't automatically slam and internet access that works 100% of the time.
What people who design college dorms fail to realize is that some people were apparently raised without manners, common courtesy or common sense. It is bad enough that people feel it is okay to blast their music at 3:30 in the morning, but if Stony Brook had thicker walls it wouldn't be so bad.
This school needs to realize that it is all well and good that they can do science stuff, but nobody is going to take them seriously if they can not even keep their own buildings running smooth and up to date on technology.
Oh, and to the person who has been blasting music all night for the past three nights, GET HEADPHONES!!!
