This is a great story about how the NY Times paired up an aspiring photographer on a cheap budget with a designer to help her decorate her new apartment. The article goes through the entire process of their redesign together.
I particularly like this article because it shows that sometimes, you just need someone else to look at something to see the beauty in it yourself. For example, they argue for a while over whether yellow, brown or pink are more appropriate colors for a wall.
This throws a lot of things into perspective. For example, if you need help, ask for it!
