I think we go through a personal tragedy at least once in a lifetime. It can be a separation, loss of something or someone that was very precious to you. And we have to overcome and live on.
Plays often cover tragedy and people enjoy watching them. Why do we enjoy watching someone’s having tragedy in plays? I think this is because we have our own tragedy in our life and we want to be comforted by realizing that everybody not only himself/herself is suffering or someone has more tragic fate than him/her.
What about the comedy? Maybe that’s another way to cheer oneself up. Comedy make people laugh and help them to get out of their rough lives.
