I am Harry Potter

Funny video to say the least. However, the question arises, how does an audience and an actor immerse themselves in the major film role that has spanned across almost a lifetime. Daniel Radcliffe aka Harry Potter, has played the role of a wizard since the age of 11 and is now 21 and currently finishing the Harry Potter series. The psychological and social impact that Radcliffe must face of portraying a role so highly recognized and respected must be exhausting. Constantly, fans of the series must be bombarding him and his life and eventually the actor might doubt his self-identity. I mean, it's just the thought. In the end, his net worth is 60 million dollars plus so I guess losing his identity worth it?

Pursuit of Happiness

I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know everything that shine ain't always gonna be gold. I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good. People told me slow my roll I'm screaming out "fuck that!" I'm gonna do just what I want, lookin’ ahead no turnin’ back. If I fall If I die know I lived it till the fullest. If I fall if I die know I lived and missed some bullets.

Why Put Fruit on a Plate?

Circular forms are a clear choice for storing the rounded forms of fruits. When someone asks you to pass them this vertical wooden fruit ‘bowl’ just give it a nudge and send it rolling their way rather than passing the bowl around.

This set of wood, metal and black-painted plastic half-bowls does not have quite are unusual but quite dynamic. From tiny grapes to sizable pears and appleas, each piece of fruit added to or subtracted from the mix changes the angle of the centerpiece which creates a minimalistic and creative design.

These innovative and stylish designs are ought to be sold and commonly used than the traditional and non-aesthetically pleasing fruit bowl.

Finger-Tips

Interactive Museum from Nicolas Loeillot on Vimeo.

In this industrialized high-tech society we currently utilize the power of touch-screen technology. With touch-screen cellphones such as the Android and Iphone, we removed the use of unnecessary buttons to create a digital surface to speak, send messages, or use applications. Why type a 10 digit number when you can click on a display to dial a number. This video above illustrates the use of minimizing space by displaying art and data that an individual can personally interact with and see many exhibits and displays with just a motion of ones finger. Although it may not be new technology, I feel as society under-appreciates the sophistication and complexity of this technology and undermines it because it exhibits itself as simplistic and easy-to-use.

Tone Matrix

This unique musical instrument is user-friendly and quiet entertaining that I have used it for hours. It is a simple sinewave synthesizer triggered by an ordinary 16step sequencer. Each triggered step causes a force on the underlaying wave-map. With our upcoming show in the city, we can definitely utilize this tool and have the audience create their own underscore with the help of a mobile app or wireless devices to control this instrument with multiple users with cursors (wii-mote).

A Short Love Story in Stop Motion

A SHORT LOVE STORY IN STOP MOTION from Carlos Lascano on Vimeo.

Stop Motion is one of the most interesting filming techniques. It involves a high resolution camera with thousands of shots of a given object that is being constantly re-positioned and each camera picture is then massed together and reformed to make it a seamless video. With this technique combined with photoshop, after effects, and 3-D models, we can create a masterpiece that feels realistic. The above video combines all these techniques to create an illustration that draws the audience and the underscore exhibits the emotions of love that is desirable.

Blogging Resumes

What if we used blogging as a portfolio for our employers? It seems useful, accessible, and an efficient easy-to-use tool to show employers a daily representation of one's work. I understand that some people feel as if their work would be publicized and wish to keep private ownership or credit but in those cases we should create private blogs. Medical Journals for example now exist on a database that is only accessible by researchers, students, and other authorities with clearance. If we researchers could blog updates about their approach to a problem then there could be a worldwide collaboration between researchers to solve a problem. Although blogs are somewhat of a nuisance in certain cases where it is used to post daily updates of one's social life which seems irrelevant to an employer, I feel this negative is out-weighed by the impact of a social collaboration on research, innovation, and networking.

Square Coke is Greener Coke

I just recently stumbled upon this new Coca-Cola bottle online.
The cap is 25% slimmer that the current 20oz bottles and 27% more eco-friendly because it greatly reduces the footprint. This design is 65% more collapsible than the current bottle encouraging more recycling due to ease in transport. Environmentally conscious people can easily collapse the bottle, carry it around until the can recycle.
The design is brilliant. The bottle looks futuristic, stylish and luxurious. Packaging is extremely important to brand so this would be a giant step if Coca Cola considered this. However, it would be a step in the right direction and with some heavy marketing Coca Cola can use this to position their product and company as 100%. I would be more loyal to Coca Cola for that simple fact.
