augmented reality

I wasn't too sure what the Professor meant when he said augmented reality so I decided to look it up. For others who don't know it is a term for a live direct or indirect view of a physical real-world environment whose elemnts are augmented by virtual computer generated imagery. An example that many people may be familiar with is the yellow first down line seen on the television during a football game. The lines aren't actually on the field but are drawn over the image of the field and the players using a computer. The main components in creating augmented reality include display, tracking, input devices, and computer with can all usually be found on any smartphone such as the iPhone or Droid.
