When you ask a young kid about shows like "Sex and the City", "Sopranos", or "Gray's Anatomy" their ears will sprung up. They will start paying attention the moment they hear these names. But, when asked about 'Hamlet', 'Ceasar', 'Oedipus', or 'Antony', their faces will loose all the charm. They no longer interested in all this highly valuable dramas. They price the daily soaps more than the classical dramas. They dont understand that all these soaps are loosely based on the classics. It is a matter of shame. Really disappoints me. Because one doesnt learn much from these soaps.
So, who is to blame for all this mess? I think it is society, media, tv show producers etc who are responsible for this decline. The whole society promotes the modern soap operas. And, obviously the content in these soap operas corrupt youth minds. Hence, they dont like the old classics. So we need to change the system. I am not completely against the soap operas. The content need to be censored a little. They should be more based on the reality and practicality than superficial stuff. People shoud learn good things from these operas. If not then these soaps need to be washed and replaced by the original stuff.
