Going up to the wire implies going to commit suicide. How do we interact with things which aren’t on tests, which we haven’t learned about? How can you be angry and hate the Nazis for what they did what so many other people have done? They didn’t even invent concentration camps, they were created in Africa by the English to concentrate the Dutch. For the spaces that we were shown, it was a very small amount of space for the large amounts of people there. The story that this space tells is a very, very small one. It was such a cruel joke to have these people see their freedom as they walked to their death in the “showers”. The Nazis don’t have the corner on the market of cruelty, death and torture. Though they don’t have the corner on that market, they still were absolutely terrible people.
