album review : kid rock born free

Kid Rock has always been one of my favorite guilty pleasures when it comes to music. I grew up listning to singles like bawitdaba and cowboy. He always mixed rock and roll with a little rap and a little country with a whole lot of shamelessness which is what Ive always admired. His lyrics have always been absolutley nuts and confident and I was actually really excited to hear Born Free because I was so impressed with Rock and Roll Jesus (I think it came out in 2007). The second I heard his new single God Bless Saturday I already knew what to expect. This album is too lighthearted and not a representation of his personal. It might be because of different producers but I see no correlation between his earlier better work and his new awful songs such as a song entitled "care". As if the song was not enough of a joke already, it features Martina McBride & T.I
