Countdown to the end

These past 2 weeks I have had a countdown slowly but surely approaching "The End". For me the end means a break from school and a nice break from the long days. Juggling school and work is a separate job in itself as of late. When one thing ends the other starts leaving little time for a break and "me" time. Juggling the two leaves little time to spend with the girlfriend of almost 4 years and puts quite a strain on a relationship. I don't care how in love someone might be the separation of two people brings many difficulties to a relationship. The ability to spend an hour with someone without stressing about something else becomes an everyday event. However, it is known that sacrifices must be made in order to reach your goals. For my girlfriend and I were at a stage where we are both trying to attain our goals of 4-5 years as well as remain committed to what we want. As great at the American dream would be I am aware that nothing will happen overnight and theres no need to rush something that has not matured yet. Today for example my goal is to leave work by 7:00PM so I can see my girlfriend for an hour or two before she hits the bed in preparation for her own long day. Our relationship has definitely matured a lot from the early days. Now we both seem more independent and comfortable to give each other space when need be. My only hope is that we remember that all this hard work started in an attempt to spend more time together.
