The epic of Gilgamesh
The epic of Gilgamesh is famous myth of Mesopotamian era. It exists on the twelve clay tabets. This epic is basically about the relationship between Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Gilgamesh was known as a king of Uruk and legendary hero among ancient sumerians and Babylonians. Gilgamesh was a tyrant and people were not satisfid with their kin. So, gods sent Enkidu to stop Gilgamesh and Gilgamesh and Enkidu fought. Enkidu won because he was way stronger than Gilgamesh. They became friends son and with his friend, Enkidu's advice, Gilgamesh became a generous king. The goddess of fertility, love and war, Ishtar proposed to Gilgamesh but he refused it. Ishtar got angry about his action so she sent Bull of Heaven to hurt him. Gilgamesh and Enkidu fought against the Bull and they won. But in the fight, Enkidu died. Witnessing the death of his dear friend Enkidu, Gilgamesh suddenly feared the death. He went on journey to get an immortal life. He tried to meet Utnapishtim and he got the plant to live forever. But the snake took it away and he was devasted that he had to face the death someday.
