Family Guy

I'm currently watching family guy and I've realized a lot of animated shows take just about the same kind of layout. The Husband, The Wife, The three kids, and a pet. One major example could be the Simpsons. Now we can see a lot of similarities in the characters. The Husband of both shows are both moronic, Stewie from Family Guy is the trouble maker while Bart is the trouble maker from the Simpsons. Both Mothers try to make it a stable place to live. I mean a lot of Shows take the same kind of Basis. Every Horror film has their leader, Their Skilled Hunter, Their Sketchy guy, The rich guy, The Attractive dumb female, The Logical Girl who is also afraid of the obstacle, and The cocky guy. Generally the cocky guy dies among the first to go to make an "example". For those of us who will go into film making are we going to stick to this recipe or are we going to bridge off it? Is it to risky? do we re-invent the wheel. In my opinion, I don't want to re-Invent the wheel,... I want to make a G-D Damn Hover Craft. Let's take things to the next level.
