The flood story in religion

There is another flood story in religion. That is the Noah’s Flood, and there is Noah’s ark, the name of a ship made by Noah to avoid the flood. In this story, the God upset because of the corruption of humankind, so he made people disappear by flood. However, the Noah who lives honestly got special revelation of the God, so he could save his life by making an ark. At that time, because of the flood, all of the creature around the world disappeared. However, Noah, his family and animals who were in Noah’s ark were survived. The word ‘Noah’ means ‘rest’ in Hebrew language. In this story, Noah stands for a model of sincere faith, and the ark symbolizes the church that is a group of believer, the flood is symbolic of the judgment of the God. This story is very similar to the flood story of the Gilgamesh Epoth. For this reason, there are many opinions about the interdependence and connection between the two stories.
