Mother Courage and Modern Europe

This is a picture of the treaty that was signed at the end of the 30 Years war. It involved all the major powers in Western Europe at the time. They finally agreed on setting up well defined border to the various nations. It’s interesting because we always think of borders to countries as always having been there, but the concept of borders isn’t really that old.
