Patriarchy to Matriachy?

While studying for my sociology finals, I went by the terms, Patriarchy and Matriachy. Later, I came to think that the society has been turning more and more Matriarchan. Despite the fact that Margaret is violated and scammed-against by group of males, her success shows the female gender's development in society. That shows a clear contrast from all the other plays that were set in old times, such as Hamlet, where women play insignificant social roles.
The context does not only related to our text but also to our cultures. Especially, when you look at the Korean culture, or even American culture, where there are national leaders at the high positions, such as Sarah Palin or Hilary Clinton, you can see that it is changing pretty rapidly. It is still male dominated, and the solution is still "turn to our fathers" but now it is slowly changing.
