This is one of the most impressive optical illusions: the blue and green spirals are exactly the same color. Your brain is tricked because it calculates what shade a color is based on the surrounding colors, which are different in each spiral. The fact that it’s possible to “reverse engineer” the brain like this make me wonder how art and theater will utilize this sort of knowledge as neuroscience advances.
