Hamlet brainstorm
So for the final project, by group is doing a hamlet themed video of "Whose Line is it Anyway;" the hit show from both England and America that appeared on TV in the 90's. The show involves a ton of improv with no scripts to guide the way. But in order to get this game rolling, it is important to know what games you are going to do.
Our group consists of five people, which fits perfectly. We will be able to have all four actors represented as well as the host, who in real life made terrible jokes and was not funny at all (Drew Carey). In order to make a movie a good length, I believe there should be between four to five different games that need to be played. Two line vocabulary, Weird Newscasters, Scenes from a hat, helping hands, and Irish drinking song, would be my five choices that would surely get the audience out of there seats and rolling on the floor.
For two line vocabulary, we would need to get four good quotes from hamlet that can be put in any context. Weird newscasters can have the weatherman acting as Hamlet plotting to kill Claudius, and the sports guy as Gertrude digging for gold, and the co-anchor as ophelia. Helping hands can be the battle between lertes and hamlet, scenes from a hat explains itself, and we could sing about anything in irish drinking song. There are so many ways to have fun and make a great film.

Hamlet in Whose Line
Our groups idea for the Hamlet final project is to make a Hamlet version of the show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" The idea is to tell the story of hamlet through comedy and good times. For those who don't know, Whose line is an improvisational comedy show that uses many different games that the cast makes up lines on the spot. The games include scenes from a hat, three headed broadway stars, weird newscasters and many many more.
All of these games can be tweaked towards the themes of hamlet. However, it wont be as serious as the play itself. It will be funny, and do to the fact that it will make people laugh, it will get the younger generation to be more willing to learn about Hamlet. Comedy has always a way to lighten the mood, and grab peoples attention. By grabbing peoples attention, we can teach them more. This will also help me learn Hamlet and understand the language of Hamlet better then I was able to do before.
