Does the story of Oedipus relate to the Jews?

***EDIT*** ---> This was my first post, but because I skipped a number I am labeling this post 18

Is the story of Oedipus merely a parable? Could it be something deeper? Who came first, Moses or Oedipus? Are they perhaps the same character portrayed in two separate tales? The similarities are striking. Both were left for dead as children as a result of a prophecy, only to overcome their fates and ultimately conquer. Does Oedipus' father represent the Egyptian pharoah? Is Oedipus Jewish? What's going on here?
