DREAMS and Last blog

To be honest i have no clue why we dream and how come they are barely remembered or at least for me i never remember them. But the ones i do remember are usually something that i was thinking about before i fell asleep. So is that what dreams come from, the things that are thought about before one falls asleep? Are dreams suppose to be interpreted and a guideline for your day. if anyone else was wondering here is some information that i found online about dreaming: Dreams are a communication of body, mind and spirit in a symbolic communicative environmental state of being. That's it! Now that you are thoroughly confused let me explain in a more down to earth language. Our brains are in constant activity. Different states of consciousness (like awake, asleep, alert, drowsy, excited, bored, concentrating or daydreaming) cause different brain wave activity. Our conscious mind, or the part we think with, our "window" into life, only takes up a very small portion of our brain activity. (some say this is only 10%) Other areas control things like breathing, heartbeat, converting light to vision, sound to hearing, balance when we walk, etc. etc. This too has it's own percentage (small). Another area controls imagination. This area is widely an undiscovered frontier. Imagination is more then dreaming of a new car or picturing someone with their cloths off! When you look at clouds and see shapes, or wood grain and see images, this is the "order from chaos" part of your imagination. The mind cannot deal with chaos very well, in fact it will resist it and sometimes manufacture order. (very important to the dreaming process.)This too occupies a small percentage of brian activity. Then there is memory. Memory is vast! And I believe it occupies more of the brains resources then most people believe.

G.R.I.N.D

G.R.I.N.D stands for Get Ready It's a New Day. To me this song can be very uplifting to my peers. Also, for this video Asher Roth who is the song writer and musician for this song held a competition with all his fans. The competition was to see who can make the best music video for the song! and then the winners video will appear as the real music video for the song.

Friends with your Ex

Is it cool to still be friends with your ex girlfriend or ex boyfriend? To me i do not know what to think since i am a friendly with one ex girlfriend but the other one, not so much. I am only writing about this because i just met up with my ex girlfriend of a year because she needed to get a t shirt back. Even though we broke up last february she finally asked for it back. Now we are not still friends, and i am not sure if i would want to stay friends with her, is it because she broke up with me and maybe i might not be over it completely because i can miss her at times? but then again i am fine on my own and am physically and mentally stable. So then there is one ex girlfriend i am still friends with. We dated for 3 years and we are friends but a girl that i dated for one we barely ever talk. Now are we friends because i broke up with her and thats why i am totally fine with it? even though we had our rough patches of fighting and her hating me, we still are friendly and get along. I think its because outside of our relationship we also had this great friendship and bond with each other and thats what allows us to still talk.. who knows these days..... to be friends or not to be friends.

Movies

Going to the movies is outrageous these days. A movie is thirteen dollars and then if you want to see a 3D movie its 16 dollars. Now more and more movies are coming out in 3D so they can charge the viewers more. Even a matinee movie is expensive and ends at like 12 in the afternoon, who goes to the movies that early? NO ONE! Going on a date to the movies is such a waste, no talking involved, so you do not get to learn about your date and is a waste of money and expensive. It can cost you up to 40 to 50 dollars with the two tickets, candy or popcorn and a drink. I wish going to the movies could go back to being 8 dollars.

New York City

One of the best cities in the world. It is where everyone wants to visit or live or even grow up in or near by. I love saying that i am from New York. It is also great because we have heavy accents so when you go down south or to other states they can pick out your outfit and tell your from New York, its a great way to meet girls. Now New York City is the best city to grow up in. It always has something to do during the day or nightlife. It definitely is the city that never sleeps.

During Christmas Time

I love Christmas time, not only for the presents but for what it represents with my family. We are not very religious people but we are Catholic. So what i love during christmas time is my house, time with family, Santa, snow, decorations. I love the way my house gets decorated for Christmas, the decorations make it so warm and cozy. I love spending time with my family during Christmas eve around the dinner table. We all reminisce about good old times with my deceased grandfather to stories about family vacations. Snow resembles winter and when i think of winter i think of snow on Christmas morning, just like movies. I always wish for snow on christmas morning so after my family opens up presents we have our family breakfast of pancakes, bacon and eggs and go outside to play in the snow.

Def Jam Poetry

here is a poem that i enjoyed and hope you all will enjoy too! I am a huge fan of poetry and love reading others poems but cant write my own.

my parents

I am very proud of my parents. They are two great people that work everything out with each other, family, and friends. They did a good job raising me and my brothers. Both two hard working people that make enough for my family and I to go to school and do extracurricular activities. They support my family with what ever we want to do and do everything in there powers to make us happy even in hard times. Since I am the oldest i understand that maybe that Christmas i might not be getting as many Christmas gifts as my youngest brother because my moms job closed down. But i understand that and will do anything to help my parents because they will do the same for me.

Staten Island

I was Born and raised in Staten Island, New York. a lot of people have a misconception on how Staten island really is. First off it is a very diverse borough with whites, asians, hispanics, and african americans. It is not all white people with Italian descent. We have nice neighborhoods with big houses and also some very crummy neighborhoods with crime. Not all of Staten Islands population goes to the Jersey Shore to fist pump and go to the clubs at the shore. Most of us are hard working middle class families.

2 brothers

I have two younger brothers. One is a senior in high school and the other one is 10 in the fifth grade. I am close with both of them but i think i am closer with my 10 year old brother. Only because my 10 year old brother looks up to me and wants to hang out with me, while my seventeen year old brother is at that age where he thinks he is to cool and does not want to listen to any of his family members. He just wants to go hang out with his friends and girl friend. We are all very close to each other in different ways.

Miss My SBU friends

this is my last week and a half here at Stony Brook. I had a good run here for two and a half years, but my time is just up. I am transferring into a Nursing Program Back home. But i am going to miss my main friends that i made here at STony Brook. I really hope i keep in touch with them over the years but i know i am going to be busy studying and working while they are doing the same, as long as we keep in touch i will be happy. All the other people here that i learned over time that they aren't real friends i won't care what happens to once i leave. But to my real friends here, i will miss you!

Mike Posner

Mike Posner is my new favorite musician that is out in the music industry. He has a unique sound that not many other musicians have. He is the new pop sensation. His new CD 31 Minutes to Takeoff, I can relate to each song individually to a different part of my life. Here are two sons that i love to listen too and relate to.

Getting Iced

Bros icing Bros!

I Don't know if anyone has heard of this drinking game called "getting iced" but its a pretty fun game to play with your group of friends. To play this game you need friends and a Smirnoff Ice. Now there are some rules, if u "get iced" thats when some hands and puts a Smirnoff in your possession. Now to fulfill being iced the person being iced has to get down on one knee and chugg the Smirnoff. There is a way to Block and counter the "Ice" by having a Smirnoff in your back pocket on your possession. And then the person who is trying to ice you has to get down on his knee and chugg both of the Smirnoffs.

Ice Hockey Fighting good or bad

So there has been a debate in the NHL about fighting. The board is trying to ban it from the game or at least lessen it. But to the hockey fans and hockey players, we do not want to get rid of fighting. The board wants to protect the players more. This makes the game, it makes the game exciting and also can change the outcome of the game.

cell phones or laptops

are cell phones becoming a little to ridiculous? at times i think so. because when i think of a cell phone i think of a phone that you use to call friends, family, and co workers when you are away from one another. Also, the only other feature a phone can have is a camera and texting. Now all these new phones coming out act like little miniature computers. They have the internet and all these games that can be played. I just think it is becoming a little ridiculous. Soon there is going to be no need for a lap top because a cell does all(my cousin does this, they don't own a laptop but have the new Galaxy and use that as there computer source)

last week

this is the last week of classes here at stony brook university. Ughh it feels so good to know that but then again so stressful because i know i have to do so much studying for my other classes finals. I feel bad for my other fellow students who are taking finals in biology, chemistry and physics. They have so much work to do for each class that they don't have anytime for anything else. I am one of the students taking an anatomy class, all my time is devouted to this class along with the 4 other classes that i am taking.

Jet game loss

I like watching football, it is my second favorite sport to play or watch after ice hockey. So i am a Jets fan. but tonight i did not get to watch any of the football game against the patriots because i had to drive back to stony brook from home. So from what i am hearing, jets fans should be disgusted with the way they played. So i guess i am glad i missed the game otherwise i would be coming into class bald from pulling out all my hair. But then again i still remember we are one of the best teams in the NFL right now, sorry to all u Jets haters.

Olympus Android

Gizmodo has posted several photos of Motorola’s Olympus MB860 Android device. It is said the the Olympus is powered by Tegra 2 procesor and runs Android 2.2. The phone looks bigger than the DEFY and will probably have a screen larger than 3.7-inch. No details of the olympus are available yet, but we can expect a large touchscreen, a camera with flash, four touch-sensitive buttons, micro USB port and HDMI output. This new phone looks like it will be a good competitor with the rest of all these touch screen Androids, Droids, Iphones and Blackberrys.

Blink 182

Blink 182 is one of my favorite all time bands. There sound was just unique and different from all others. They were even crazy outside in performances and music videos. then they split apart for a couple of years. Recently they just did a tour together and are making a new CD. I just hope the new CD has the same sound as there old music.
