Well, as a senior and going to graduate the next spring semester, I really want to get a job right after I got out of school. I do not want to be one of the college students that does not have a job after spending four years of college. As a result, I did "homeworks", revised my resume, looked up some basic interview questions and bought a nice suits.
The job fair started at 12 and ended at 3. I actually had a class started at 12:50, but I decided to cut class. It is because I think it is more important to get a job than to miss a lecture. We can learn what we missed, but we cannot have the opportunities that we missed!
My friends and I planned to arrive there early to avoid crowdedness later on. Yet, bad thing happened. The resume that I printed through the school "print it from everywhere" software did not recognized my print job. I ended up sitting in the library and correcting the previous version of my resume. Lesson for that day: Do not ever trust one, always make yourself a second copy.
I ended up arrive the job fair at 1. There were a lot of people in there already. This year they did not ask us to put a name tag on our suit which made me feel a little bit comfortable, because I used to see a p.h.d and master student standing in front of me waiting for interviews...I am a computer science major and there were a lot of organization hiring software engineering and programming, include some big companies like Microsoft, Bloomberg, VMware... There were also companies actually asked students to do coding right there. I was quit scared by those companies because I think I am not good enough to be one of their member...Sadly. So I fished around the job fair, started of with some small companies and got to talk with them and made myself less nervous...then I interviewed with those big companies...
This was actually my first time being seriously attending a job fair. All in all, I think I could do a better job next time. I could prepare better. Did I get in any job opportunities ? um....I am not quit sure. I only have one company that I am confident with after interviewing with them...>
