In the play Mother Courage, she loses all three of her children during the war and still continues to to negotiate deals with people on both sides. I think that this isn't really a mother because how can you lose your children and go on like nothing ever happened. My mother said that if anything ever happened to me or my brother she wouldn't be able to live. We are the world to my mother and she always tells us that.
I know that if I had kids I wouldn't be able to stand it if anything happened to them. I don't understand how Mother Courage can just keep doing what she's doing like nothing just happened. To me this isn't being a mother because it's almost like she doesn't feel anything for her kids and this just isn't right.
