Emails

I don't know about you, but when I write an e-mail, I write it REALLY long and I take my time into putting what I really feel. I don't like those people that just write a simple lol or something crappy, because if you're going to write to someone you know, at least put the basic effort in there to say what you want rather than just that. The problem is that texting encourages short little replies like that instead and it has lowered peoples attentions spans to type and read something under 100 characters instead of long passages. I've noticed this problem too with my friends who cannot write good essays at all, and on top of that, they don't read a REAL newspaper that will help them improve their vocabualary and writing skills (sorry but Newsday/Daily News/NY Post are NOT real newspapers!). Twitter has encouraged this even more, although I do not think that is near a big a factor as how texting has become. People, just take the extra 5 minutes at least and make your true thoughts heard..not your "omg" or "lol" or "whatever" transient thoughts..
