Good Night and Good Luck
The movie, Good Night and Good Luck which is directed and starred by George Cloony, is not a fun and exciting movie, ut it makes audience think about American society and media system. It was worthy to watch it. The story is basically about that Edwar Mrrow and Fred Friendly and their team make an effort to stop Senator McCarthy accusing people as communists. What he was doing was obviously wrong but he used public fear for his success. People wanted to believe him because they were afraid of insecure society. He just le people to fear and made them suport him. In this way, television is definitely influential on public sphere. There was no internet then, so television must have a stronger influence than now. But someone had to speak up for jusice and it was Edward Murrow. He confronted McCarthy when he accused a soldier as a communist. Edward Murrow said tat it was not right to accuse him because there was no evident for that. Newspapers gave favorable comments for him so, his show ratings raised and the public started to follow his opinions. Even the soldier got his position back and Senator McCarthy was about to lose his job. Television affects public hugely so that even society might change for that.
