Holiday without the Happy

Why is it that this year no one that I know is in the Christmas spirit including myself. I mean, they really arent. My mom says that if it was up to her, no one would get anything for Christmas this year. Honestly I really dont care. I dont feel like its the holiday season or anyone is being cheery. Maybe its because its finals week and all anyone is concentrating on is studying. But even when I go home, you dont see people like other times. There are very few houses that are actually decorated with lights and you dont see people very happy. Its almost like the Christmas spirit was sucked out of them. Maybe people need to start listening to some Christmas songs and drink some eggnog to get into the spirit.
