Don Juan is THE sinner of the medieval era. He seduces women and lies to everybody. He has no moral values. Mike, in The House of Games, seems to show moral values, yet is definitely a antagonist of the movie and scam against people. The two are not exactly the same, but the show an incredible similarity in manipulation skills. Both characters are extremely good at manipulating people's minds to cause further conflicts. While Don Juan only uses verbal methods to manipulate and lie to people, Mike takes the art of manipulation to another level. He designs complicated scams to steal whatever he wants, and drops bombs on people's minds afterwards.
Art of manipulation seems like the standard of evilness of a character. Lady Macbeth manipulates Macbeth to put herself in one of the most evil characters in the history. All the other famous evil characters, have skills of manipulation against whoever they want to steal from. They do not consider what might happen to characters that they manipulate afterwards, but only goes for what they want to have. Manipulation hence is the new standard of "evil".
