I like the professor's idea of taking the plays to current crop of people. There used to be a time when opera, drama and plays used to be heart and soul of a society. Now, time has changed. Going to cinema halls is a pain when you can watch stuff on yer own laptop. Tougher thing is to concentrate in cinema halls when your cell phone is vibrating. So, we need a revolution or more of integration of technology and literature such that we can take art and literature to masses.
The final project that he wants us to do is really innovative. I like all the different ideas that different groups proposed. Our idea is to organize an interview with all the 5 major characters as in Oedipus, Jocasta, Gertrude, Ophelia and Hamlet. We will enact as different characters and hold an interview. It will be very light hearted interview. It will have sarcasm and irony. Our aim is just to make it funny to attract people. Once they like it, they will google it for sure and this way they'll attain some knowledge and interest in these plays.
