Stony Books closed?

Ok this isn't good. My friend drove by there and said there was a for sale sign or for rent sign on the window... This is where I got my books for this semseter.. at decent prices too.. This is kind of sad. The bookstore at SBU is extremely over priced.. how are they allowed to do that by the way? We pay for tuition and then we pay $45 for a book I found online for $18 online.. true story. They know the economy is "kind of" bad right now. Please cut us a break. Haven't they heard the cliche that college students are pretty much broke... yeah that's pretty much true if we have to spend ~$150 per class for books. I'm so happy I don't live on campus... I'd hate to dish out money for the meal plan too.

  1. I actually live on campus this semester, and I don't know that I can stay for much longer. And yeah this is actually not good..EVERYTHING is overpriced on campus, and I was lucky enough to rent all my textbooks with scholarship money this fall semester...don't know what's going to happen to me in the spring =/ I was just searching for instructions on what to do If I want to keep two books I rented from Stony Books, but all the links are non-existent and I typed it on google only to find various articles about the store closing down. I'm surprised I didn't know about this earlier. I don't even know if I'm supposed to keep my rented books!

Although I planned on keeping them, I'll feel terrible if I don't even have to pay for them anymore since the price was so flexible. This is a tragedy for Stony Brook students. Also, I read that the owner had two heart attacks this summer...I hope he regains his health.
