THR 104 wrap up
So this is it. This will be my last blog for THR 104 (Play Analysis) In it I hope to share my opinion on the class and the unique experience faced this semester. I never really considered myself to be savvy when it came to play's and old literature. In fact I was a little intimidated by it. I always had a lot of respect for people involved in theater because I found it to be a hard thing to place yourself in a character. The other day I saw Chris from class do just that. In class Chris had no problem sharing his opinion in class but he seemed to me to be a reserved kid. I mean he never really raised his voice or showed to much emotion in one given time. Now that's nothing against his character that's just an observation. But when he was out there on that stage during his performance he completely took shape and became a different person. He was loud, passionate, and far from reserved. He completely changed personalities within that 3 minute performance. That in my opinion is the most interesting thing about theater. The transformation of an actor into a character is fascinating. On another note I found the class to be very interesting and worthwhile. I had the opportunity to re-read Hamlet, see a few new films, and take a break from the monotony that is traditional college courses. We weren't pressured to hit deadlines but rather encouraged to deliver a good product on our own timeline. That's what I enjoyed about the class we were treated like colleagues and not high school students. I want to thank everyone in the class for their opinions and the professor for opening our eyes to new things. Everyone have a great winter break and I hope to see you all around campus. Remember humanoids....FACETIME...
