This is my last post about current events before I finish up my blog requirements with talking about our gig, so gotta make it count! Sad thing is, the title of this one isn't a joke; scientists are allegedly in the process of making STD testing possible on the very phone you used for that un-smart booty call. How is this possible? Well, as guardian.co.uk relays, "People who suspect they have been infected will be able to put urine or saliva on to a computer chip about the size of a USB chip, plug it into their phone or computer and receive a diagnosis within minutes, telling them which, if any, sexually transmitted infection (STI) they have. Seven funders, including the Medical Research Council, have put £4m into developing the technology via a forum called the UK Clinical Research Collaboration."
All I'm saying is I sincerely hope this is available for the iPad when it's completed. I'd love to have a semi-reasonable excuse to spit or even urinate on one of those things. Stay safe, kiddies!
