What my father thinks about me being an atheist
My father called me the other day to ask, “Is there a chance you might become more religious again?” I keep telling my parents that I am an atheist, but they absolutely refuse to believe it. To my parents, being an atheist is the worst sin. They believe that atheism is the underlying root behind mass murder, rape and baseless hatred. My parents are not very happy with me because of it but, like Kurt Cobain said, I’d rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not. I have my own job and apartment, I am not dependant on anybody. I don’t need anyone telling me to become more religious.
