Francisco Verse
Damn I’m mad you killed my pops that way,
Pouring POISON in his ear, you couldn’t even say
Sorry brother, this throne, I want this
Far from loving but damn at least you’re honest
More hate then love and now he’s with the man above
Telling people fables, should told the one bout Cain and Abel
How you’re a dirty scheming no good piece of it
How you’re parked on the throne where he deserves to sit
Now you’re here trynna play the innocent role
You crossed me, but this bridge right here has a toll
I know you can’t believe I know this and imam stop ya
Don't be mad about my steelo, I got it from my poppa
You shoulda known while you were screwing my mom
I had you right in my palm, on the brink of dropping this crazy bomb
You’re probably curious as to how shit got so hectic
But don’t worry uncle Imma get you when you least expect it
Pouring POISON in his ear, you couldn’t even say
Sorry brother, this throne, I want this

So Ima be the rapper chitter-chatter
Madder than the Mad Hatter

(No more whining
cuz ur mom’s mine N Ima kick you out harder than a fuckin’ diamond
And if you didn't know who's rhyming
The antagonist of the play comin in

My rap's too severe, kickin' that poison in ya ear
CHORUS:

[time for fuck poison in ya ear]
I'm kickin' that poison in ya ear
I used a Craig Mack as a major influence

Ice Cube and the CIA
Ice Cube, a gangster rapper from South Central Los Angeles has plenty to say on the crack issue. In John Singleton’s debut phenomenon Boyz N The Hood (1991), Ice Cube plays a politically conscious member of the Crips named Doughboy. Ultimately coming to terms with his actions, Doughboy gives up drinking and decides to live an honest life. An epilogue states that Doughboy is murdered by a rival gang shortly afterwards.
As politically conscious in real life, Ice Cube targets the CIA in his controversial 2008 single Gangsta rap made me do it. The song attacks government officials who blame rap for crime. Ice Cube argues not only that violent crime existed long before rap, but that these bureaucrats are hypocrites, as the government is guilty of violating human rights. He accuses the CIA, “Fuck you old mother fuckers tryin’ to change rap…But ain’t you the same cat who sat back when they brought cocaine back?” Cube makes a good case that African Americans are not at fault, and that it is the government to blame.

What my father thinks about me being an atheist
My father called me the other day to ask, “Is there a chance you might become more religious again?” I keep telling my parents that I am an atheist, but they absolutely refuse to believe it. To my parents, being an atheist is the worst sin. They believe that atheism is the underlying root behind mass murder, rape and baseless hatred. My parents are not very happy with me because of it but, like Kurt Cobain said, I’d rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not. I have my own job and apartment, I am not dependant on anybody. I don’t need anyone telling me to become more religious.
Kosher vs Not Kosher Taboo
Hillel is a very unique agent of socialization, because it specializes in Jewish life.
The Rabbi of Hillel introduced me to Birthright, an all expenses-paid trip to Israel for 10 days. Like Hillel, the trip is an agent of socialization in its own. The difference between the two is that Birthright is not very religious oriented. It is more focused on bringing Jews to the homeland to experience and appreciate its citizens, landscape and overall culture. It is very secular.
On the first day of the trip, the Birthright Rabbi held some ice breakers for us to get to know each other. We sat in a circle and the Rabbi would ask us our favorite movie, holiday, sports team and whatnot, then each person around the circle would introduce themselves, followed by their favorites from the categories mentioned. The first category was food. I was a bit hesitant because my favorite foods at the time were all non-kosher. So I thought to myself, should I say tell the truth by saying lobster, or should I instead say a kosher food, and not rock the boat? I waited to see if anyone before me would say a non-kosher food, but nobody before me did. When it was my turn, I said: Lobster with melted butter. I didn’t know what to expect from my answer. Would there be some sort of harsh sanction, like people sneering or giving me dirty looks? Apparently not; not only did the group laugh and appreciate that answer, almost everyone whose turn was after mine mentioned a non-kosher product as their favorite food.
While speaking of non-kosher foods was embraced on a not-so-religious trip, I experienced a completely different reaction at Hillel. The Hillel Rabbi hosted a similar ice breaker game in honor of Lag BaOmer, a Jewish holiday. When the category was food, again I waited to see if anyone would say a non-kosher food before me. Again, nobody did. When it was my turn I said my favorite food was lobster with melted butter, like I had done on my birthright trip. Everyone in the room seemed appalled, and the Rabbi immediately went on to the next person. I laughed inside, but felt mildly ashamed. I should have known that the Hillel takes such matters seriously. But I don’t understand how having a different food preference than others can be a form of deviance. After that, nobody talked to me the same way they used to. I had blatantly told everyone that I am not an observant Jew.

Intro to Hillel
Because of my skepticism, I would hide my faith from others. Religious Jews wear a yarmulke, a head covering. When I was younger, my great grandfather told me the Nazis identified him as a Jew because of his yarmulke. The older I grew, the more I challenged what I had been taught in Hebrew school. Not before long, I stopped believing in god altogether. By the time I left home for college, I became completely secular.
When I entered college as a freshman, the campus Rabbi of Hillel approached me in the Union to ask if I was coming to Shabbat dinner that Friday night. I wasn’t wearing a yarmulke, or any clothing to suggest that I was Jewish, so I asked him how he knew. He admitted that he could tell just because of my face. I laughed, because it wasn’t the first time someone told me I look Jewish. So I went along with it, and told him I would come. Since then, I’ve been attending a lot of Hillel events. Not because I believe in god, but because I like to learn about Jewish culture. I would attend, but if I wouldn’t participate if I was asked to pray.

What's the deal with religion anyway?
It’s not easy being an atheist in a Jewish community. My parents are religious Jews, and have attempted to raise me as such. When I was a toddler, I envied the kids around the block who played with their happy meal toys. My parents never took me to McDonalds, because they did not permit me to eat non-kosher products. This includes all other fast food restaurants, all pork related products, among many other restrictions. Even gelatin was forbidden by my parents, as gelatin allegedly comes from animal connective tissue. So this ruled out gummy bears, jello, marshmallows and many other snacks. There are kosher marshmallows too. When I grew older I tried that the non-kosher marshmallows, and thought them to be more delicious.
Not to say I didn’t always believe in Judaism. I believed in god when I was a child. Some nights before I slept, I recited the “Shema Yisrael”, a Jewish bedtime prayer similar to “Now I lay me down to sleep”. Even so, I had always been a skeptical believer, and had never been too sure about my faith. Having lived in a Jewish community my whole life, I knew I was sheltered. I knew there were other religions out there. I thought it was silly to suggest that my religion is more legitimate than any other. It didn’t make sense to me that just because my parents followed a certain religion that I would have to follow it too.

Debunking the myth
a successful effort to debauch the faux drug dealing lifestyles that hip-hop portrays, Malice from Clipse, revealed in a video log the true nature of his life. He makes a clear statement:
"I am and have been part of the problem...I need foolishness in my Hip-Hop. I need foolishness in my movies, I happen to like that. A movie is not good unless you got some bricks getting moved or people getting killed. When I get in that booth and start recording I can drive as many Bentleys as I want. But you gotta learn to separate the real from the fake…So when the music stops, along with all the dealing and killing, what good is it if you’re not around to enjoy your success? When the spotlight ends and the industry hoopla is over with, I just want to show you how my life is really like"
Malice goes on to reveal that he indeed does not drive a Bentley, or a G5, or any luxury vehicle of that sort. In fact, there is only one vehicle in his driveway and it is a four door truck. He even elaborates that there aren’t even rims on the tires. He clarifies that there is selling crack has no future, and that even in the unlikely event that a dealer does become prosperous, he stands a great chance of getting murdered.
Malice isn’t the only one reporting the reality of crack dealing. Sudhir Alladi Venkatesh, a professor of sociology and African-American studies at Columbia University decided to collect data from a crack dealing neighborhood back in 1989. Breaking free from his conventional work environment, Venkatesh risked his life to book-keep for an African American gang in downtown Chicago. Crack-cocaine is usually sold in deviant communities where gangs thrive, often in the housing projects of inner city neighborhoods. Cutting edge economic data was the initial reason Venkatesh opted do to the job in the first place, but the thrill is what kept him around.

Hip hop hoopla
The blur between the real and the fake has been a controversy for some time now. Are we to set a certain standard for what type of movies, or recordings are produced? Assuming no controls involved with hustling crack, the media might be able to get away with presenting a lavish image of the crack dealer. Fortunately, first hand reporters have been presenting figures for the public to gain a better understanding of what’s happening in their cities, in their neighborhoods, on their streets. The curtain of insanity can finally be unveiled, so long as you aren’t completely fooled
Wanna see BLACK SWAN but it's only a limited release
I love Daren Aranofsky
Requiem for dream is one my my favorites

Kanye West's new album
For those of you who are oblivious to the music industry, Kanye's latest album is the talk of the town
Pitchfork rated it a perfect 10/10, the first time they've rated an album that high in just under a decade,
the other album being Wilco's Yankee Foxtrot Hotel
http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/14880-my-beautiful-dark-twisted-fantasy/
Don't get me wrong, it's a mad good album, but a 10?
Every song is crafty, and the opening track is dope
Monster is a hit, and a breakthrough for Nicki Minaj
Young Money records is doing well this year
Lil Wayne is on the verge of a comeback since his release from prison
Cash Money records is on a come back too, Birdman has been having a good year
So has Rick Ross, the Teflon Don
Usually P4K rates his albums very low,
but they gave his latest album an 8/10
You ought to check out Kanye's album though, it's FIRE

HIP HOP'S false representation of crack cocaine
Hip-hop is also guilty of creating a ludicrous representation of the crack trade. Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan went certified platinum on his album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, which included his hit single Ice Cream. Ice cream is street lingo for high quality crack cocaine. Mainstream hip-hop artist Lil Wayne has made a name for himself by overstating how much money he makes from cooking crack and selling it on his respective block. I’m a Dboy, a track from his 2005 album The Carter II exemplifies this point, “In the kitchen over the stove with pots and pans…a hundred grand in rubber bands”. And as if a hundred grand wasn’t high enough for Lil Wayne, he later released a song with fellow southern rapper Birdman entitled A Hundred Million Dollars.
Of the gangster rap genre, Clipse is perhaps one of the most consistent. Not only does the hip hop duo allude to crack in nearly every song, their mixtapes and albums feature some aspect of crack culture. The cover of their multi-platinum 2006 album Hell Hath No Fury depicts the duo sitting on a crack stove. They have also released three volumes of a mixtape entitled We Got it 4 cheap, a reference to crack trafficking. They even feature the Arm & Hammer logo in their Base Tour poster. Furthermore, “Basing” or “Freebasing” is street lingo for smoking crack. If the implications aren’t enough, the song I’m a Roller explicitly asserts, “I ain’t Richard Pryor, but prior to rap I was cookin’ crack over an open fire”.

Hollywood's false representation of crack cocaine
Hollywood has a history of conjuring a false reality and bringing it to the screen. Just as Hollywood has staged numerous expeditions to the moon, it has also enhanced the life of a drug dealer. In George Tillman Jr.’s loose-based biopic of The Notorious B.I.G, Notorious (2009), a young Christopher Wallace ascends to power and gains an abundance of wealth by selling crack. In just a few months, he is able to go from broke to loaded. There is even a scene in which he has his own office and desk to sell crack. Likewise, 50 Cent rises to power by selling crack in his biopic, named after his debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2005) directed by Jim Sheridan. One crucial scene involves a young 50 cent holding a vial of crack cocaine, asserting that that one vial of crack will get him out of the hood. Influential rapper Cam’ron also stars in a biopic about selling crack in Killa Season (2006), directed by Cam’ron himself. In under a year of selling crack at a street corner, Cam’ron dumps his bicycle to buy a Bentley and a Rolls-Royce.
Among the entire category of crack dealing films, Mario Van Peeble’s New Jack City (1991) is perhaps the most infamous. The film features Wesley Snipes as a lush multimillionaire street-level crack dealer. Snipes’ character, Nino Brown wears gaudy jewelry over decorative haute couture clothing, as he is chauffeured around the city by his devout escort to make business transactions. Nino accumulates so much income that he can’t figure out what to do with all his crack money. On Thanksgiving, he uses his illegal revenue to purchase a hoard of turkeys to feed countless of the city’s poor inhabitants. He reasons that this friendly gesture justifies his illicit trade. Even when he is caught and is sentenced to prison, he has already become so wealthy that he is easily able to buy bail.

Why does the media make us believe crack dealers are rich?
Crack dealers do not need to fill out a job application. Because crack cocaine is a black market product, prospective drug merchants do not need a college degree, or any level of education. In fact, crack-dealing policies are so liberal that no business credentials are required whatsoever. Previous work experience may be considered, but it is also unnecessary. Even resumes aren’t needed. Both highly addictive and relatively cheap, crack cocaine essentially sells itself. World renowned hip-hop emcee Jay-Z embellishes how competent a crack dealer he is in his 2001 hit single, U Don’t Know, “I sell ice in the winter, I sell fire in hell. I am a hustler baby, I'll sell water to a well”. Furthermore, Jay-Z embellishes his prodigious earnings as a crack-dealer. So too do other rappers, along with many Hollywood directors. The entertainment medium has presented an upscale, luxurious portrait of dealing crack. In reality, selling crack is the antithesis of what these imaginative Hollywood directors and hip-hop artists would have us believe.

The lady doth protest too much, me thinks
This is a line from Hamlet
I love it
I heard it on Everybody Loves Raymond the other day
Raymond's mother tried to debauch Raymond's wife because she was, as the title says it, protesting too much
My interpretation of the quote goes like this,
If a person, especially a girl, is very passionate against something, there may be an underlying reason behind it, and she might have an alterior motive
Maybe what she's protesting against carries no merrit whatsoever and just because she is so passionate against it doesnt mean she's right
in fact she might very well be wrong
Hell, she's PROBABLY wrong.
