Hamlet Skin (Update 3)

My group-mates and I met up a couple of weeks ago and finally finished the application.

We used this online program called appmakr.com that made it fairly easy to create the application.

It took a while to figure out how the program worked and how to get the websites connected with the app, but I got it to work and all we need to do now is to create the blogs and the tweets and to look up more pictures for the photo album.

The blogs are supposed to be one or more posts per scene, depending on the scene and how important Claudius' role is in that scene. We were planning on making everything modernized, so his speech in the blog posts will be like everyone else's. For example, in the posts Claudius would use "lol" (laughing out loud), "omg" (oh my god), and so forth. He would also use computerized facial expressions, such as " :) " (smiling face) and " >:( " (frowning face) and "T.T" (crying face) and so forth. We wanted it to be the same as someone's blog from today.

The tweets will also be modernized and contain modern computer language. The tweets however, since they are much shorter than the blog posts, will be for every time Claudius interacts with the characters or when something important happens. It is meant for the audience to see what his initial reaction would be like.

The photos are just there to give the audience a sense of what the characters were portrayed as.

I like it a lot better when we work on the computers in class. we become more involved and it is more interesting to be hands on rather than watching all the time. I also dont own a mac so they are fun to use when i am in class. I really liked the class where we played with that program and used our textures to do different things. We made it look different colors and edited it. we also made sound out of movement which was really interesting and cool to see. I wish i had more time to just play around with programs like that but half the time i dont even know what i am doing with it. It takes me a while to catch on to things like that and other programs we use in the class. Im getting better though, hopefully they really will be useful in the future.

Oedipus comparison

This weekend I planned on making a video using the different scenes and images. I went to my mother’s house in Albany and on the bus ride home I recorded the different places we passed. Stores, cares, old buildings, farms, etc. Eventually I had enough recorded to make the movie on my computer. Then when I got home it was nothing but problems with my mother- problems that resulted in her kicking me out for good. As this was happening I was thinking to myself “I can use this for one of my blogs if I can’t think of anything else to write. So I’m saying that perhaps my getting kicked out is representative of fate. As corny as that might sound I believe that it has been time for me to leave the house- it was inevitable. Although I didn’t like THE WAY it happened, I believe it was meant to happen. In comparison to Oedipus, even though the fate was not exactly what we wanted, it was meant to happen.-J. Ramsey

Dentist is a good guy!

Why do people hate the dentist? Personally, I do not. Then again, i have never had any cavity problems (knock on wood) or other major problems. The dentist we use are very lovely people. They know us by name and they are always good for conversation. I have bitten them before, totally by accident, and all they do is laugh about it. And as an added bonus to making my teeth all sparkly and beautiful, they give me a free tooth brush and toothpaste! Unfortunately, i am too old for them to give me the coin that goes into the toy machine. I really do miss getting those toys.
