macs

I like it a lot better when we work on the computers in class. we become more involved and it is more interesting to be hands on rather than watching all the time. I also dont own a mac so they are fun to use when i am in class. I really liked the class where we played with that program and used our textures to do different things. We made it look different colors and edited it. we also made sound out of movement which was really interesting and cool to see. I wish i had more time to just play around with programs like that but half the time i dont even know what i am doing with it. It takes me a while to catch on to things like that and other programs we use in the class. Im getting better though, hopefully they really will be useful in the future.

Dance Dance Revolution

I was addicted to the game dance dance revolution when i was younger. i was sick at it too. i have pretty good hand-eye coordination. me and my friends used to play all the time and when i would be at an arcade i always looked for that game and people would always be watching me. It's a really good work out too, more than you would think.
I'm pretty interested in what else you would use this mat for. i mean i guess it could work like a hand controller you would use. I wonder if it wourks for any other games besides that one if you have a special hook up. I'm excited to see what some of the people in the class come up with. Maybe i'll actually start playing again, that thing is pretty rusty i should put it back to good use.

extreme makeover home edition

i was just watching an episode of extreme makeover home edition and they were helping out a family with a lot of children that had unfortunate illnesses but as part of the episode they went to a childrens hospital to give them gifts. Some of these children just encountered surgery, some had lukemia others were just very ill. The cast of this show brought them so many toys like cd players, tvs, video games, even a fooseball table. i thought it was really ironic that this was the episode is aw because we were just talking about it in class. The smiles on these childrens faces were priceless and you can tell they were thrilled with what they received. Besides their sickness they are just like any other kid so they deserve to be treated that way the best they can. It was amazing to see what could bring a simple smile to these childre's faces.

Zoos

Professor Baldwin mentioned zoos and how museums are actually similar to this. There is so much domestic information and things from around the world in zoos. i love going to the zoo. All animals are so different from one another and it is so amazing to see the way they live. I feel bad though because they are couped up in such a small area for most of them when they can be out running wild and free. Polar bears are my absolute favorite, big white tigers are awesome too. There are so many species out there and zoos can be very inspirational and interesting. You walk around and look at and talk about all the animals at the zoo on display to you just like you do at a museum. It is all their for your entertainment and interest, it can even be for very educational purposes

BMW vs Corolla

Professor Baldwin asked a few kids in class what would they rather have, a corolla or a BMW. Instinctively everyone chose a BMW. Money means so much in the world and if you have it, your likely to flaunt it. I feel like even if there is an ugly BMW that you are offered over a nice looking Toyota Corolla, almost everyone would still choose the BMW because it shows you have money and you can afford it. People biy expensive things to show others that they can, not necessarily because they like that certain something, but that they can afford it and want to flaunt their money. People buy so many unecessary things just because they want it. i'll admit im even a victim of this. Shopping is one of my favorite things to do, of course i don need anymore clothes but ill buy them anyway. My moeny could definitely go towards more useful things.

MOMA

In class the other day Professor Baldwin was showing us a bunch of pictures he took at the MOMA. A lot of people in class didnt understand how certain things were called art, including me, but it is crazy what makes it into a museum. It looks like normal lamps, chairs and bikes but somehow it is created into a masterpiece. To have your work accepted into a museum is a big deal. I was especially intrigued by the actual people who were there for entertainment. two people sit in a chair and just stare at each other and other people will walk around or stand there watching them look at each other. Or there is someone who sits at a desk and you can tell them one word and they will make it into a picture for free. i think that is a really cool feature i would definitely get a bunch of drawings made. I feel like this museum is more than just art, it is really interesting and has objects and pictures and even people that are intriguing for other people to look at and experience

inspirations

It is really easy to get inspired every day by everything around you. Artists and designers look in nature, architecture and museums. These are all very inspirational. Nature has so much to offer and its full of phi. Its almost everywhere you look in so many different forms. Architecture is basically created off of phi related things. Other people's architecture and creations greatly inspire new designs for other people. even if your not a designer you could be inspired by a certain building or design. Museums have so many interesting and inspirational things as well. There are all different forms of art, paintings and objects, even people that are considered inspirational and people pay money to go see. We don;t realize how much we are inspired by the things around us on a daily basis

Jessica Simpson vs. Lady Gaga

In class the other day we were talking about Jessica Simpson and Lady Gaga. im not a huge fan of either one but i have to say i like Lady Gaga more. Even though she is really out there she is unique and crazy in her own way. i also actually really enjoy her music.
There isn't one song of hers that i hate. Jessica Simpson was just another blonde haired pop singer who didnt really stand out or do anything for me, of course she is gorgeous, but she isn't anything special. Her and lady gaga are complete opposites in both their music, looks and performances.

torture

In class the other day we were talking about torture and the crazy thoughts and methods behind it. Professor Baldwin told us about a pill that lasts an hour and paralyzes the body and makes the heat beat at different paces. This is crazy to me and so are all the other forms of torture people have come up with. Honestly, torture is my biggest fear and it makes me cringe and gives me the chills if i see or hear about someone being tortured. i think it is absolutely awful except for the people who desere it of course. i cant watch any of the saw movies because of this. scary movies are one tihng but a movie based solely on torturous methods is too much for me

hospital room for kids

Today in class we talked about what would be necessary to put in a room for kids who just had a traumatizing experience or who may be terminally ill. Its sad to think about, but thinking of creating something like this for them will give a positive outlook on life. bright colors, games, and toys will help them recover. I also dont think the terminally ill should be separated from and other sick recovering children. They deserve to enjoy everything to the same extent as any other kids.

my room

This is my room so far, if i have time after doing my performance space ill add some more detail. its pretty simple but i like it a lot in mostly black and white

futuristic city

I finally finished my video. i never thought the day would come where i actually had this completed and its not half bad. This program is actually a lot of fun to play around with. There are so many different things you can do with it. This is my last blog and a perfect way to complete it with my finished video

Phi in nature

These are two flowers that i found that also have Phi charactersitics. Aside from that, they are also so pretty. It was such a gorgeous day out so the pictures came out really good and bright. I noticed myself looking for Phi around campus all day long. Once the idea was in my head i kept looking and finding it almost everywhere. It is in a lot more places than we think

So when i looked up what "phi" and golden section and raio meant i found so many different things. There were so many different types of objects, architectures and things in nature that possess the phi qualities that we dont even realize. The one i found the easiest, which most of these pictures are of, was the A+B concept where there is a line and A is double the size of B which is seen in so many buildings, doors and windows. i also found the closest thing to the spiral effect that i could.

Sketch-up Warehouse

I'm still having a lot of trouble with the sketch-up warehouse. i have made a little progress since last night when i tried working on it, but it is nothing compared to the video i just saw on someones blog. i have no color and i dont know how to fly in or create a video. if anyone has any advice or can help me at all i would greatly appreciate it. im going to keep playing around with it but this is only my second day and i am not very computer-educated. im kind of excited to see how everyone elses turns out though expecting mine to be the worst. i plan on learning a lot from seeing other peoples, i just dont know how to do it myself yet but im trying. it is a pretty cool program to play around with i just need to learn what all the icons do still. I was really overwhelmed when i first saw the program i had no idea how i was supposed to draw a car by hand, but soon figured out it was much easier than that. tomorrow should be interesting!

Early Mornings

So this theater class is at 9:50 in the morning which may not seem early to some but it is very early for me. I was dreading adding this class knowing it was at that time in the morning because i am most productive at night and i am usually up very late. But the past two times i have gone to class i realized i actually didn't mind it as much as i thought i would. The mornings have been so nice and its not bad waking up to. My tuesdays are now over by 12:40 because i have one calss after theater at 11:20 and i love having my day end so early. Its so much better than getting out at 5:10. I actually not get a lot of work done on tuesday afternoons since i have the rest of the day free. It leaves room for a lot of other things too. I know once the winter comes though i will not want to get out of bed and embark into the freezing cold, but for now i am not minding it all and have actually discovered that i like getting an early start on the day. But i will definitely not be scheduling anything before 9:30 ever.
