patterns in medieval arts

While I was looking at the medieval artworks, I found something in common in their shape. They somehow had a uniform structure in the picture.

They thought phi proportion and geometric structure was very important. Therefore, if looking at the faces they are out of real scale but circle.

These "proportioned" and "geometric" pictures gives themselves uniformity, hence bringing flatness.
Perheps this is because of the atmosphere at the period of the time when Christianity held greatest influence thus divinity was the only significance while individuality was not.

Although phi proportion is very important in design, artists should know how to break in because too much of uniformity effect an anti-creativity.

rise of asynchronism...

We are born in a synchronistic nature. We see, we touch, we feel, we think, and we speak. The way we live is ought to be synchronistic. That was the way we survived and marked ourselves on the top of the pyramid. However, nowadays, the sophisticated (or complicated) culture and advanced technology have lifted our levels so survivable that we do not require the synchronistic way of living anymore. The ones who would have been fallen behind naturally now live among us in spite of their asynchronistic nature.

The psychopaths whom their mind and action doesn't synchronize can't perceive what others might feel according to their action so that they don't follow the social base also known as conscience. The more of those asynchronists be part of the society, the more cracks and menaces in the society.

So we humans have to retrieve our most basic way of life : see, touch, feel, think, and taste what the real world and intercommunication is, rather than stuck in a cell typing words in cyber space.

What I think of the modernly arts, which I value a lot, is the movement of retrieving the synchronism to our minds. The 'seemingly meaningless' lines and 'insanely scattered various colors of ink' on a big canvas represent the most intrinsic state of our mind.

i'm a billionaire designer,

and my child is incapable of moving and has to stay on the bed for ever... then what can i do to him?
Well, while we were discussing about this in class, I expressed some ideas but it was after class and lying on my bed thinking more thoroughly about this. It can sound random but I was thinking of making it applicable to this time of world. It is typical in a sci-fi movies but i was wondering if we can actually see it in a real life not in the planet Pandora. So I thought of some remote controller that's connected to your brain. So, when the pilot think about moving an arm, the nerves that are connected to his brain will send some signals. Then the highly designed device intercepts the signal and amplifies and send it to the avatar wirelessly. This sounds applicable; since it's at least not so futuristic like that the spirit moves to the avatar.

anothre phi portion

on the way back home from the library in the midnight, this springcooler and the lamp made a harmony forming this kind of picture. The light reflection makes another phi portion, making the picture looks like a flower.

sunset2

Color is always my main subject whenever I see artworks in museums, watch movies, buy clothings and so on. When I saw this sunset that day, I can think nothing but taking a picture of this scenery. Since it is taken from my iPhone, the quality of the picture was not as satisfactory as I saw it through my bare eyes, but I still like it. This picture shows a contrast between two colors blue and and red. I took this picture at sunset, about 6 to 7 o'clock. By just looking at this picture, I can feel the difference in temperature.

way to the forest of manhattan

On the way to the city, I saw something queer. I never thought the skyscrappers would match with nature. The buildings over the island harmonize with the trees alongside the highway. (it can only be my opinion though) If god has made forest of trees, men has made forest of buildings.
Thinking of the level of technology nowadays, it's a privilege to live in this period. I wonder how Manhattan will look in 100 years, how world will look in 100 years.

Brion Gysin

His works are mostly about presentation of mind.
I was impressed by how well he can draw and translate the image in his minds into a picture.
I found repetition on these three works of art. This repetition makes somewhat stiffling feeling to the viewers.

wish tags

at New Museum of Contemporary Art..
There were hundreds of comments on the wall. All filled with wishes.
The idea of this project was quiet brilliant. All visitors who wish to write downt heir wishes on a piece of paper and put it on the empty hole on the wall. The comment will be on the wall after a while.
and you can actually take those wish tags if you'd like to.

New Museum of Contemporary Art

It was such a great museum. I wasn't expecting that much when I first planed to go there.
Despite it was smaller in size than MoMA, its content was as great as MoMA.
I liked the way it presented the artwork.
I felt that it was more focused on modern arts and abstract works while MoMA has its range of 19th to contemporary.

My city.

i have several styles but this is my favorite version!

why?

Looking at the picture of my dog, I became curious about why the shape of the bricks is zig-zag, not a straight line. Would there be any reason for this design?

Hmm......

night ride

no cars, no pedestrians, no birds, no noise on the street.

just a sound of engine and a sight between darkest roads...

I feel like I can go anywhere right now; there's nothing to think about but just going straight to where I want to go

airplane

This took so much time.... and I'm finally done with its design.

I thought of more futuristic plane but after i finished, i felt like it's

already old... haha

sky

the most comfortable color and smell... sky

Following the attraction..

Color takes an important role on design.. because it attracts people's eyes,,,

And I was tempted by this color on the road.. and followed...

and I found RedMango plus a yogurt icecream...

phi proportion?

I tried to find the phi proportions that naturally occur....
