fate

When I was growing up there was always a question between fate, and faith. Many religious people feel that we should leave out lives in the hands of God and believe wholly in faith. But I don’t believe in God, a single religion or any of that so I always stood up for fate. The common theme seen in many of the literature and films we see in class is that we can not control what is meant to be, it is fate. Like Oedipus, who was sent away by his father after a prophecy heard after his son’s birth. A prophecy that might not have come true if the King did not hear it and fear fate. It makes me wonder that maybe not faith in God would be relevant but faith in the human race and society at large that would better justify the argument.
