Finals

I have a huge issue with finals in some classes. I don't think it is fair to judge someone's work ethic and how much work they have done in a particular class on a final alone. I have a class that meets three days a week, and because it is a big lecture hall we have only had a mid term and a final. So even though I have only missed three classes the entire semester I could possibly get a C or lower because it is graded on only two grades.

Not saying that I like to take tests, I am just saying i'm not good at them.

The Big Bang Theory

Who would have thought that a TV show about nerds would wind up being so freaking funny. I watch this show and almost wish that I turned into a nerd, but I'm way too cool for that. The scary thing is that I do understand alot of what they talk about, so maybe I am a nerd? Oh god, I think that I am a nerd, I've got alot of those traits, I constantly recite crazy movie lines, my head is filled with useless knowledge and I can be quite annoying at times. No wait, thats not me, thats YOU!

Going to the Tank

So, today is the big day! and I am sitting here searching directions because I am about to drive to the city for the first time. It's seriously going to be a good time, but I am trustworthy in my sense of directions, and my gps. I am bring one of my best friends along, and for some reason (maybe she just is feeding off of my emotions) she's really excited. So were about to start our journey.

And to go with what the Prof said, I will be dressing up. Which is a task I always find fun, so I am excited to be wearing an almost prom dress and the substitute for a tiara that any princess would be jealous of.

I hope everyone has there attire in order and is ready for what were are about to experience. Because I honestly have no idea.

Good luck everyone, and be safe!

The Tank

I am excited to go on the Tank on Saturday. I will be bringing one of my best friends Aysen with me. I was trying to explain to her what the show was about, and it was actually quite complicating. Though the main theme is Hamlet, I wasn't too sure of how the different projects would be distributed to the different students. But what I am excited about is actually seeing how the day plays out and is going to work. I am also really excited to see how everyone else's project turned out, and to get shit faced in the city. :)

Google

I am an honest believer that google has changed the world.
Every time I come across something that I don't know about, or want to learn more about I always google it. It has become apps on our phones, and is on nearly every person's search bars. It is amazing how a simple search engine can change and become such a big part of life, in only a short couple of years. It's crazy to think how much the world is changing all the time, and how different it will be in such a short amount of time.

Sitting here thinking about what to blog about, I decided to google the top 15 most popular blog sites.

I found this pretty interesting and I am a little shocked too!

Santa, fo realllllll?

There has been a lot of speculation in recent years over whether Good ol' Saint Nick is real or not. Many believe that he is merely a tradition that does not exist. While others believe that it's actually their parents who bring the holiday gifts. More research on this topic should be done.

But really has anyone ever thought about what Saint Nick really does every December 24th-25th?

I mean how would you feel if a chubby old man came down your chimney to give your kids presents and steal your cookies? I mean isn't that bordering pedophilia? I'm just wondering because that would make me uncomfortable and concerned for the safety of not only my children by my neighbor's! And seriously why does he have to take my cookies? Isn't he already getting a gander at my children??? LEAVE MY COOKIES ALONE!!! that's why I left out the carrots you fast bastard

Shutter Island

I personally love the movie Shutter Island. I won't give away the plot so I don't ruin it for anyone, but let me tell you the twists and turns are outstanding. The end is the real crowd pleaser, and it leaves many wondering if Leonardo DiCaprio's character is telling the truth or lying about his mental state. I love thrillers, and think that this movie is done particularly well. Another aspect that brought a lot to the movie is the lighting and the way the film is shot. By making certain scenes lighter while others remain dark and gloomy the audience gets a feel for the mood, and expectation of where the director wants to film to go.

Wholesale

I work for a company that is involved with wholesale. The point of wholesale is to provide consumers with the same materials and products for a lower cost. But there is a lot of negativity that goes with wholesale that many people don't realize. When a customer walks into a wholesale club they automatically become members. This is because you need a membership, much like a gym, to shop in these stores. The store is about 4000 square feet, completely overstocked with merchandise ripe for the pickin'. But the thing is that when you walk into these places, price and margin are low while the service aspect is expected to be high. This isn't always the case and many members become frustrated with the individuals who work at these establishments. It's not our fault we are understaffed, so be nice!

Issue number 1

I have a friend whose parents are in the processes of moving to California for a job opportunity. Here's the problem, my friend is not going with them, though her three younger siblings are. She is currently a student at Stony Brook, so in anticipation for the move had to find a dorm room. Honestly it was such a hassle and I don't understand why the administrators and others involved in student services don't want to help students. This is the main issue for Stony Brook is that the individuals working on campus do not support nor care what happens to it's students. Maybe if we stopped focusing on building a hotel and gaining money and started worrying about the people who invade this campus on an everyday basis, students would be happier. And possibly feel more comfortable about coming to campus everyday.

CNN Theme Song

I have to learn how to import this song from youtube to add into our final project. It has been going pretty good, but editting is a lot harder than I thought. Not to mention I have no back ground and don't know how to fully use the different tools and programs. Hopefully someone will help!

Amanda Lepore: world's most famous transexual

Michaela Romanini, famous for her collagen abuse

Plastic Surgery

Many people turn to plastic surgery when they are not pleased with themselves. But I feel like many people take it to the extreme. Like when we were talking about Joan Rivers today in class, a women who started off a fairly attractive comedian is now dipicted as a monster. She has no facial movements and has become the butt of all the plastic surgery jokes made in Hollywood now a day. Having a procedure to make a person feel good about themselves, is one thing, but when you are using plastic surgery as an out for dealing with your negative self images that is not a good thing. And honestly alot of people just look ugly when they have too much!
examples to follow.

10 Worst Plastic Surgery Disasters

From Jocelyn Wildenstein, a US$4 million monster, to --who else?-- Michael Jackson, meet these ten plastic surgery addicts, terrible examples of reallybad plastic surgery gone wrong.

Hang Mioku: injected cooking oil into her own face

One of the most famous cases of plastic surgery gone wrong, Hang Mioku, a 48 year-old woman from South Korea, became so addicted to plastic surgery that she was left unrecognisable after her obsession led her to inject cooking oil into her face. She had her first plastic surgery procedure when she was 28. Following operation after operation, her face was eventually left enlarged and disfigured, and the surgeons she visited refused to carry out any more work on her and one suggested that her obsession could be a sign of a psychological disorder. So Hang resorted to injecting cooking oil into her face. It became so grotesquely large that she was called "standing fan" by children in her neighbourhood - due to her large face and small body.

As Hang's notoriety spread she was featured on Korean TV. Viewers seeing the report took mercy on her and sent in enough donations to enable her to have surgery to reduce the size of her face. During the first procedure surgeons removed 60g of foreign substance from Hang's face and 200g from her neck. After several other sessions her face was left greatly reduced but still scarred and disfigured.
