So Don Juan was a great story and it really makes you wonder if their is a hell to pay. The story of Don Juan is about a womanizer who didn't care about the awful way he treated women. One day in a graveyard, he jokingly invites a statue to dine with him. The statue accepts the invitation. Later on Don Juan goes to shake the statues hand and the statue grabs onto Don Juan's hand and drags him down to hell.
People all around the world do good and bad things and a lot of times their motives are religion. Do people do good things because they fear a hell? Is hell just like prison then? Do people not commit crimes because they fear jail?
If religion wants you to be a good person to avoid going to hell then are you really being a good person. If hells eternal damnation then wouldn't you try to avoid going their at all costs.
Its like people who don't steal out of fear of going to jail, they are not good people. They are just logical people. Jail sucks, don't do something that could put you their.
Shouldn't people just be good, because its good to be good. I know its a crazy concept, but it's true. Isn't that what a God would want? For you to do the right thing because it's right and not because you're scared of going to jail or hell.
Idk it just urks me.
