Gender roles...

In Korea there is a clear gender role between girl/ boy, and women/ men. I don’t know how these roles have made or who made it, but the important thing is that it is still remain in the present and acts as a big role for the society.
For example, the first thing you will see when you visit the main city, Seoul, Korea, is the young girls around age 17- 25 , dressed up perfectly with full make up, perfect hair, with high heels and cute hand bags. This shows the gender role in Korea, for girl. Because we have such a crowded population in a small nation, everyone has big impact for another. The gender role for Korean girl is being perfect on the appearance as a girl, and act as a girl. This gender role creates the tension between the girls and it almost seems like a beauty competition.
This competition is so high among girls, I heard a lot of cases when the girls spent a lot of money into clothes, make up, and even plastic surgery, and ended up ruining their lives. And when there is someone who tries to break this role, that person would view as an outsider.
