Aaron D. Neufeld- BLOG #48- ‘This is The End’

It has been a great semester. Honestly. This class was like no other. All of my other classes, even within my CCS (Cinema and Cultural Studies) major and Media Studies minor have been pretty uniform classes. We have the standard textbooks, midterms, papers and final exams. We learn interesting things and we sit back, worry about the exams and the papers, and hope that once we get into the real world, we will be able to apply some of what we learned, in order to get ourselves a job!

Professor Baldwin’s class is different. He actually forces us to learn the technology and learn how to handle what we discuss in class. He’ll keep pushing you too and he won’t accept “the Stony Brook canned answer” of “I don’t know” or “I can’t” because as we are by now all very well aware, we are most definitely not living in Can’tada. He taught us what we can do. These are skills that we will need in life to prevent us from falling into a Pink Collar job. These skills are essential and the best part is that we are actually learning how to use them ourselves!

Not only are we learning the necessary skills to succeed in class, but we are even given the opportunity to get out into the real world and present what we have learned! This opportunity at The Tank will be like no other. This is the real world. Everything we have worked so hard at all semester leads up to this. This is our first real test. No more waiting around until after graduation. This is it.
