being emotional and being a woman

I'm sorry but when did being emotional become such a bad thing? I get mad at some guys because they're so vanilla. I don't think being emotional and caring about people is such a bad thing. And I feel bad for people that think it is.

Since I'm going into medicine I think being emotional (I admit it and I'm proud) and caring is a big plus for me. So many people go into medicine for the wrong reasons and I think since I genuinely want to help people I think that's a very good thing. I think being emotional is part of being human.

In a way being emotional gives women is an extra plus for women. I think that helps us excel in things that have to do with caring about people. I'm not saying that men can't do a wonderful job but if some (not all) women are born with a little extra dash of compassion it can really help us out in the long run. Some men can "mother" and some can do a much better job of it than women but it's not for everyone.

Honestly, I think some women make better doctors when it comes to dealing with children and parents. I usually hear about pediatric doctors so I don't know about other fields.

It just kind of bothers me that someone said that because women are emotional we cannot do certain things...like medicine... and then I was called emotional. I know I will make an amazing doctor thank you very much because I love medicine, helping people and I genuinely care. From my experience and from what I've seen, that makes a good doctor.
