Being Watched All The Time

Everything form credit cards, calls/texts, each pages browsed, each email sent/received, what channel and what show you like to watch is all being recorded somewhere. With the benefits and conveniences of present times, there is also privacy issues that are not dealt with or discussed enough. All the data that is being collected about people is going somewhere and one day (actually that is already happening) potential employers may evaluate you and make their decisions based on your “record”. For example, some companies or individual employers look up your information on facebook and make their decision to hire or reject. And some people lost their jobs because the boss did not like what he/she saw/heard via facebook or whatever. That is just one example using facebook.
Facebook and other social networking sites are mostly used for keeping in touch with friends and entertainment but it can be potentially used to categorize people, and do the type of things mentioned above. However, social networking sites such as facebook and others make it possible for mass networking and communication in which besides entertainment, people make contacts and even share ideas and do productive things. Yet, the privacy issues will always be there and some people such as employers may “benefit” and others will find that they just made things difficult for themselves.
