Kinect

In class we've been tlaking about the Kinect and different ways in which it can be used. I think that this device is really awesome and truly has so much potential. As some other people have talked about it could be used for security purposes for example to open a car or your house. With the facial recognition capabilities the possibilites are endless. Or if you wanted to use it for more leisure activities you could so that too. Surfing through some youtube videos you definitely come across a lot of interesting ideas. I saw one where someone programmed it to a gumball machine where everytime he put his hand out for a gumball it dispensed it automatically. I also saw an interesting one where the guy hooked up the Kinect to Super Mario and he controlled Mario using his own body movements, ie: running and jumping. I think this really is an example of video games of the future. Especially with the obesity rate climbing in the United States, hopefully this will get some kids off the couch and movement at least somewhat.
