swimming

I did not know how to swim until I attempted to do it in a YMCA pool. It was fun swimming but I did not actually learn how to swim properly because the pool was not deep at all and I would balance myself or stop in the middle and then go to the other side. Basically, I did not know how to float in water and was not able to swim in deep area. One day during this semester, my friends decided to swim in the sports complex swimming pool. I didn’t know that the pool was very deep in the middle to the other side and when I started swimming, for an hour I was swimming back and forth and did not swim to the other side of the pool because I was afraid of not being able to swim over the deep part of the pool since I was not able to float. Eventually, I started to swim easily and without feeling tired or running out of breath and standing in the pool. Then I suddenly just decided to keep swimming forward nonstop and swam to the other side. That was a very good feeling because I was very scared to swim over the deep part and I was able to do it without making a scene and having to be rescued. I felt like I actually learned how to swim “instantly” for the first time and confidently swim back and forth from both sides of the pool. This reminded me of how I learned how to ride a bike without training wheels in a few hours but I felt very good about it because I actually was sacred to swim when I was very young.

MY youtube site is http://www.youtube.com/user/TheSituationChannel

Bike

Somehow I learned how to ride a bike within a few hours. I started riding the bike and at the beginning I would loose my balance and steere left and right. Within a few hours, I was able to ride it just like the other kids and I was surprised that I learned how to ride a bike so fast. I saw most kids riding bikes with training wheels when they started riding bikes and it took them some time to ride their bikes without training wheels. Training wheels did not seem necessary and I thought that I coud do it without training wheels. I was happy about that and thought it was funny that most of the kids needed practice and had to use training wheels to learn how to ride a bike. I have not learned any tricks but I see some people “stunt” by riding it for a short duration with the front wheel above the ground. I have seen some kids ride it on a straight line even in uneven roads without touching the handles to keep the front wheel straight.

A cool search engine/computer

There is a website called woframalpha and simply put, it is incredible and amazing. It is a calculator, unit converter, currency conveter, and it can do so much more. It can calculate to many digits, give a comparison of your search value or result and has shows data that relates or is relevant to your computed value or search result. It also has facts about the world and has an enormous category of topics that range from history, color and temperature, math, health science to sports and games and monetary topics such as stock market and beyond. It is a knowdledge hub and it is expanding every moment. What makes this site different from google search is that it gives you specific results and comparisons and relative data without having to individaully go to different sites for information.

Rain Puddles

It is easy to see water puddles during the day but at night it is difficult to distinguish water puddles, especially when it is very dark. Last night after eating midnight breakfast with my friends, we were leaving the union. When I stepped out, I stepped on a puddle. Fortunately, I stepped out of it extremely fast and my sneakes did not become wet inside. The puddle was not easy to distinguish when I was stepping out of the door. Sometimes, when you have to walk by a big area that is basically concaved, the puddle is very big and unavoidable. That is when it becomes a problem because you may have to walk on the puddle and most likely soak your shoes. I tend to hop past it if the puddle is not too large.
Some puddle are worse than others because some of them are very dirty and it leaves soil and dirt mark on the shoes. Walking with wet shoes is so disturging and it just happens sometimes.

On my way to Penn Station

When I was walking to Penn Station after the final ened, I saw some weird things/people. There was a guy wispering “same women” to people walking past him. Another person was just walking as if he was looking for something and the way he was walking seemed suspicious. He looked around a bit, walked, looked around some more, and stopped waking and just started looking at people passing by. When I was inside Penn Station I saw a few guys “observing” women passing by and it seemed to me that they were just “chilling” in Penn Station and “looking” at women. And there were a few people that looked like they were very fightened for some reason.
Usually when I am in the subway or using any other type of public transportation, I see some weird stuff and some weird people, and some people that are up to no good.

When I look back, it seems easier now

At the end of every semester, I feel as if “that was not so bad, not that difficult” . During the middle of the semseter and during the end the pressure peaks and I think that I am having a difficult time. However, after the semester ends I feel different looking back and think that it was not as difficult as I thought it was as the semester was ending. Part of the reason I feel that way is because by the middle of every semester we learn a lot and by the end we have multiple finals and it becomes stressful to prepare for all the finals in about 2 weeks. I am sure many other students feel the same way.
Also, as the classes become harder and I have to study more, I don’t feel that the class are too much to handle. The harder classes just seems like the “new normal level of difficulty” once the semster begins. Then again, every semester the pressure builds up and after it ends, I think that the classes are not that difficult as it seemed.

Learning so much

Now that the “pressure is on”, most students including me are studying as if it is a life and death situation. Some people are taking a few naps throught the day/night instead of actually sleeping. In the commuter lounge there are commuters and residents that are there with their food, laptops, and even blankets and pillows. Many people are just studying so much and for long durations that they don’t go home or in their rooms until they are completely exhausted and/or needs to take a bath. There are even some people that stay here during the finals week in the commuter lounge even though they don’t live too far off campus. People are cramming and studying and some people are basically cramming all the information they should have learned througout the semester. It is intesting that some people are able to learing so much within a fews days what took other students to learn in about three months. Some students are able to able to somehow catchup and learn so much complex information from hard classes within a few days before their finals whereas most students study alot too during the finals but are not able to cram and understand complex information that fast.

Is it a coincidence??

Apparently a few days ago the one and only microwave oven in our dorm “broke”. It seems to me that the same thing happened last semester when I was living in a different building. I have food in my refrigerator but I can not eat it because it needs to be microwaved. This does not seem like a coincidence because this is the second time that this has happened to me. I am starting to think that at the end of the semester, the school wants the people to buy campus food as much as possible for their gains. In order to make all the residents buy food even if they cook their own food or have precooked food that just needs to be warmed, they disable the microwave. I think that the eletcric socket that the microwave is connected to is deactivated so the microwave is off and people can not use it. At late night/early morning during the finals weeek, it is a waste of time and energy to go out to eat especially if you don’t live in or near Kelly Quad.
This just may be a coincidence but it happened last semester (in the end) and this semester. Therefore, I am beginning to think that some of the microwaves througout the dorms at the end of the semester “don’t work” for a particular reason.

What I Think About Sports Cars Now

When I was a teenager I use to think that when I have enough money to buy a car, I will buy a sports car. Part of the reason sports cars were appealing to me was because sports cars accelerate faster than average sedans and sports utility vehicles. Besides that, I also use to like fast cars because they look cool and guys ride in their fancy sports cars with hot women. The underlying reason that young people and kids find sports cars attractive and appealing is because sports cars are promoted in movies and music videos which makes it such a desirable thing to have besides the implied idea that guys can pick up hot women because of driving a “hot car”.

The reason sports cars (“hot cars”) are even promoted or displayed in movies, television shows, and music videos is because people think the fast acceleration and high speed of sports cars is a thrilling experience. That emotion/feeling combined with the aerodynamic and compact look of sports cars makes it so appealing to many men and women. I was interested in sports cars such as Corvette, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Dodge Viper, Astron Martin, etc. The reason I lost interest in fast cars is because they consume lots of gas and are relatively more expensive to own and maintain than sedans and SUV’s. Furthermore, it is unlikely I would speed to places even if I owned a sports car because I would not want to get a ticket and don’t want to end up having an accident due to speeding. In other words, I would not be using a sports car for the purpose of driving fast regularly which basically defeats the purpose of having it. Although I am not interested in owning a gas guzzling and tiny car that is only good for thrill rides, I still like to see other people driving those kind of cars because I like the style and design of sports cars.

Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison

Almost everyone that grew up in America has been hearing about Thomas Edison. Teachers in elementary school talked about Edison and about his invention of electricity and the incandescent light bulb. Most kids don’t realize or don’t come across the differences between alternating and direct current at least until they are in junior high. Even then, all we hear is about Edison and he is given credit for inventing electricity and the incandescent light bulb.

Edison did not invent alternating current and better light bulbs which were the inventions and discovery of Serbian immigrant Nikola Tesla. Most teachers and mostly people think of Edison when they about the inventor of electricity and light bulbs. Tesla was a former employee of Edison and they had financial and technical disputes that led Tesla to quit working for Edison. Once alternating current was discovered by Tesla and that it was much more efficient and useful than direct current which Edison promoted even as he acknowledged it, A/C was chosen as a the form of power supply. A/C is the reason the world is lit.

It is strange that the man who had such an impact on the world by offering us A/C is the person that died lonely and without the fame and respect that he deserves.
Edison, on the other hand, is much better know and talked about and is thought to have invented electricity by most people.

Gym teachers and athletic trainers who are out of shape

In high school, there was a gym teacher who was obese. He was obese as in he was fat but seemed like he is active and can run and is athletic. That teacher was very nice and social but his body weight made people laugh about him a bit. The point is that gym teachers and athletic teachers that are out of shape are instructing people that are athletic or are trying to loose some weight and for the instructors to look like a student/client just seems to imply that they themselves are not physically fit. They may be very excellent gym teachers, coaches and athletic trainers but if they look like they need to get in shape as well. It would seem as if they need to workout and get in shape before they begin instructing others how to become athletes or just simply loose weight.

Some people get offended too easily

Some adults are quick to get offended and it is funny that they feel mad or feel that they are being disrespected when that is not the case. For example, If your body slightly brushes the side of another person walking…it is unlikely that the person did it intentionally or for the purpose of offending/insulting a random person. Some people do perceive unintentional slight body contact as a sign of disrespect. I think that for someone to even be offended and look angry just because someone else walking by in a crowded space slightly brushes by another is silly.
Those type of people remind me of kids in junior high when they get offended/feel disrespected if someone else bumps into them in those crowded hallways of junior high schools.
I encountered someone in the subway who seemed to be very angry just because he was being bumped slightly by other people during the train ride. It was sort of funny because everyone else was squished from all sides and bumping past each other as people entered and left in every station and he seemed very angry that people rushed and brushed past him when entering and leaving the train. I know that some people are ignorant and stupid because they walk past you and even brush by as if he/she had just pushed you or bumped into you with unnecessary force and wants you to get out of the way when it is obvious that the train is packed

The Simpsons, Futurama, and The Family Guy

Just like many other kids, I loved to watch cartoons. Most kids loose interest in cartoons that they use to watch when they were very young like Scooby, Pinky And The Brain, Jonny Bravo, Dragon Ball Z, Speed Racer, The Flintstones, The Simpsons, etc. We go thorough phases and loose interest in something and gain interest in another just like with cartoons. I noticed that many people my age still watch The Simpsons time to time although we stopped watching the cartoons mentioned above.
Like most people my age, some of us lost interest in Simpsons but still do enjoy watching it sometimes because Simpsons episodes are more realistic, adult-like, and is composed of humor that both kids and adults find entertaining.

Futurma is also appealing to young adults because of the same reasons. And The Family guy is geared toward adults but kids enjoy it too because it is similar to The Simpsons in the same way but with more adult content and humor.

Pokemon and gamyboy

When I was about nine years old, pokemon was aired in the U.S. and it attracted kids like a magnet pulling a metal. Pokemon is a very popular Japanese cartoon show has an international fan base. The cartoon show was like a mania and kids just could not get enough of it. Besides the popularity of the cartoon show alone, Pokemon cards and pokemon games in gameboy color and game consoles were very popular.
Back then, just like almost every kid I liked Pokemon cartoon and the games (I didn’t like the pokemon cards too much). For kids, pokemon games, the cards, and the cartoon was interesting. Most teenagers and adults did not find it appealing and many parents were surprised that their kids like to watch a cartoon where human like characters train and battle cartoon animals that eventually “evolve” into stronger/faster animals.
I lost interest in Pokemon eventually by the time I was in junior high just like most kids that lost interest in Pokemon within a few years. After I completely stopped watching Pokemon and stopped playing Pokemon games, I thought that it was fun and I enjoyed it just like all the other Pokemon fans. Looking back at what appeared to be fun and appealing about Pokemon seed so boring and dull after I entered junior high school.

About Abortion

There is so much debate and differences of opinions regarding abortion in our country. Some people decide not to have an abortion for religious or cultural beliefs and other reasons such as “having a baby no matter what the consequences in the future because she may not find someone like him so she wants a baby with him”. Something new has been happening and is on the rise…..some women/girls have babies because they just want a baby for the wrong reasons such as getting child support and or having a baby with a rich man because then she may be able to benefit financially. This type of scenario is so sad and for the child being born….he or she came into existence for financial gains and not likely because the person’s mother actually wanted to become a mother for the purpose of raising a child.

The guys that are involved in this type of scenario often don’t have a good relationship with the child’s mother for various reasons such as: he was only looking for fun and not intentionally impregnating a girl and end up having to pay child support. In some cases, some girls/women want to have a baby with a particular man for reasons excluding benefiting financially or getting support such as: because she really likes that person even though she may not realize that he does not feel the same way and she decides to keep the baby after becoming pregnant unintentionally.

I think that from the point of view that the girl or woman has the right to choose independently whether or not she wants to have a baby once pregnant. But the problem is that if the man does not want to be have a baby with her, then she should have an abortion. The baby would not just be hers’ it is also his and if he does not want to have kids with her then she definitely should have an abortion. That is absolutely logical and it makes sense from every point of view.

This rant seems like it is very one sided or whatever but this is not about pointing fingers at girls or women in general. I am stating that girls/women have right to choose to have an abortion or keep the baby but having a baby for financial or other types of gains is immoral and it should be considered a crime.
Guys that also pretend to love a girl/women for financial and/other gains and have a baby with that woman should think about what a foolish act that is on the long run since most likely they will not get along and that will have a negative impact on the kid.

People (men and women) who do these types of things mentioned above don’t put themselves in the shoes of that child who will mostly likely suffer for their wrong doings. We are all born as babies and it is not difficult to picture the outcome of a child born as a result of such acts mentioned above.

Everything Is Connected

Throughout history many different cultures and religions from all over the globe more or less have some beliefs and ideas in common. They believed that there is a creator, everyone and everything is connected, and they encourage compassion and love. Aside from politics, wars, propaganda, social manipulations, and coercing conflicts for benefits, even in present day people share these beliefs. Such beliefs as in a god, afterlife, good intentions and actions and equal treatment of others are questioned due to scientific dogmas, current theory of economic and financial system, political systems, and the way people interpret traditional cultural and religious beliefs. That is, if something can not be proven or is not tangible, then it is thought to be invalid/false or does not exist. The idea that everyone and everything is connected, however, is something people are reconsidering based on the scientific advancements in quantum physics and relativity.

Einstein’s equation states mass and energy are interchangeable. We also acknowledge that everything that exists is made of atoms and electrons. Electrons behave as waves and particles (have dual nature) and that light also behave as waves. Without getting into details, it appears that we are coming to the conclusion that everything and everyone is connected because we are all made of the say stuff. The difference is that different things or living things have different form and structure and vibrate at different frequencies.

Sketchup House

I made a new sketchup video of a fancy house and cars. The house and cars were downloaded from sketchup warehouse. I modified the house and colors and added trees and other stuff and put background music.

Awkward things about relationships

When a girl cheats on her boyfriend, sometimes instead of just doing the logical thing and breaking up the guy actually goes on to fight the guy who did things with his girl. The funny thing about this type of scenario is that it is almost always the case that the girl says she is single and cheats or the guy knows the girl has a boyfriend and hooks up anyway. Either way, the girl is cheating and when the boyfriend finds out, he gets mad at her and madder at whoever hooked up with his girlfriend. This is the funny thing about this type of situation which happens a lot, instead of simply blaming her for cheating and ending the relationship, he goes on to express his anger verbally and/ or physically on the male that had affairs with his girlfriend or just simply stays with her although he acknowledges the fact that she cheated on him. However, sometimes the boyfriend may just be with her even after finding out about her affairs because he may just have intentions of staying with her for materialistic and or sexual gains. Although what I just mentioned is also true, sometimes the boyfriend just likes his girlfriend too much for whatever reason and chooses not to break up even though he understands that she cheated and there is a fair chance that she will do it again.
With girls, however, it is different. Some girls would not hesitate to break up once she finds out that her boyfriend is cheating. Even if she decides not to break up, she is not as likely to go after the girl that had affairs her boyfriend unlike the scenario with men being cheated on by their girlfriends. Not breaking up after finding out that she is being cheated has many reasons such as she feels that she probably will not find another guy that has an expensive car, spends lots of money on her, or maybe because she likes him a lot. The thing that is unfortunate and quite common about nowadays is that many girls have abusive relationships in which the boyfriend uses her to just fulfill his needs and mistreats her, cheats on her, and even physically assaults her. What is so ironic about this type of scenario is that, millions of women with such types of relationships for some unexplainable and incomprehensible reason seem to not be able to break up. Even when their friends and others who tell her to simply break up and never contact that man/boy, she tends to stay for a long time and endure the abuse for some reason and then break up or he breaks up with her.

Being Watched All The Time

Everything form credit cards, calls/texts, each pages browsed, each email sent/received, what channel and what show you like to watch is all being recorded somewhere. With the benefits and conveniences of present times, there is also privacy issues that are not dealt with or discussed enough. All the data that is being collected about people is going somewhere and one day (actually that is already happening) potential employers may evaluate you and make their decisions based on your “record”. For example, some companies or individual employers look up your information on facebook and make their decision to hire or reject. And some people lost their jobs because the boss did not like what he/she saw/heard via facebook or whatever. That is just one example using facebook.
Facebook and other social networking sites are mostly used for keeping in touch with friends and entertainment but it can be potentially used to categorize people, and do the type of things mentioned above. However, social networking sites such as facebook and others make it possible for mass networking and communication in which besides entertainment, people make contacts and even share ideas and do productive things. Yet, the privacy issues will always be there and some people such as employers may “benefit” and others will find that they just made things difficult for themselves.

Reality Shows and the public

I was never really into any reality shows and I don’t really understand why millions of people, young and mid-age, think reality shows are so cool or entertaining. From the point of view of being entertained by the drama, fights, romantic affairs, breakups, and everything else in between, it is entertaining (to some people). Everyone acknowledges that the shows are more or less set up to a certain extent and some of the interesting things that they do or say are said or done based on what the viewers want or expect to see. It appears that many people enjoy and crave these sorts of television shows where people are doing immature/ inappropriate things. Furthermore, what is happening to the viewers, especially kids/teenagers and young adults is that subconsciously they begin to think that it is ok to act a fool, get drunk, cheat, and get into fights over stupid things.
Getting drunk, cheating, fighting and doing immature/stupid things is not something that was invented via reality shows but such behaviors are common and describe the way the characters act. I just want to make it clear that I am not stating that the characters are actually dumb or stupid, they are paid to do things and they do what they do based on what the audiences want to see and hear. So part of the reason that reality shows are they way they usually are is because that is what the viewers want. Even many people that watch such shows don’t act stupid or immature but they watch such shows simply because they think it is entertaining. However, some young people and especially young kids and adults do feel it is ok to act in such and such way because they see it on television and society does not seem to look down upon that type of behavior and actually some people that behave in such and such ways are liked by others for being that way.
I am not point a finger at reality shows and saying they should be banned because then then same thing can be said for movies that have lots of drama and violence and adult content. As there are plenty of movies among the violent/explicit one’s, reality shows can be made that are inspirational. The funny thing is that, if they had 2 different reality shows where one of them is about getting drunk, having fun, and being reckless, whereas the other one is about college students preparing for the real world, the one with the drama and such will continue and be popular and the other will have much less views and be cancelled. That was not the best example, but what I am saying is that without drama and reckless behavior, it will not be a successful show. That is why the reality shows are the way they are…..and apparently many many people like that sort of shows very much although they know some of it is absolutely fake and setup.
