Hamlet experience

In our group, we did a 'reunion show' of both Oedipus and Hamlet. If anyone's seen Jersey Shore or Real Housewives or anything of that nature, they usually have a reunion episode at the end of the season to discuss hot topics that took place on the show. We followed suit and had Hamlet, Ophelia, Oedipus and Jocasta. The process of making the script and finding the cast was relatively painless. However, we ran into a few roadblocks when trying to find our host and our Jocasta and Oedipus. Luckily, my group member was blessed with friends who were willing to take on these roles. It turned out that they were international students from India. I learned a lot about their stories and their culture from my friend and group partner, and it seems fitting in the sense that they too have overcome great obstacles, assumed leadership roles, and ventured on journeys to the unknown. Personally, I could listen to their perspective of the world all day. It captivates me how the mentality of a different place shifts and tends to be clearer and more sensible.
