Spending the night on campus

In case you are commuter who miss the last bus of the day and have to spend one full night on campus or you just have to leave your room because your roommate invite his or her fifteen hundred friends on Facebook over for a party, you, my friend, are not alone. I have spent several nights walking around on campus due to the late night exam schedule. It can be really frustrate sometimes when you want a place to rest. I bet library is the first place everybody think of. However, you can only stay at the library until 12pm in the normal day and 3 pm in the final week. I have discovered a spot that you are guarantied to have a comfort place the whole night: the computer science building. As far as a know, the door is never closed and they have really nice couch too.

Smart Phone Applications

We discussed a lot about smart phone applications in class. One of the students in class even made his own application called TouchOSC. With this app, members of the audience at the Tank were able to control the films at the gig. Kik Messenger is a nice application to have on your phone. It is a way of communicating between smart phones. For example, Blackberrys have Blackberry Messenger. Kik Messenger is just like that, but it can be used with all smart phones. Another application professor had us download was Bump. With bump, one can transfer data by fist bumping his/her phone with someone else. This application only works for androids and iphones.

An interesting app for people to have is Where. This application helps you find nearby restaurants, libraries, stores, movie theaters, etc. When you click on the application, it automatically knows your location and helps you find places near you. This is a really convenient application to have.

push your chairs in....

For some reason i found out after working at the student activity center that people have serious issues with pushing their chairs in. i find it funny due to the fact that growing up my parents and teachers always made always made it clear that pushing ones chair in was essential. is it that we forget the rules and guideline we were though growing up or is it the factor of not caring. Always assuming that others will do what you forgot to do.

Cyborgian Texture

About 2 weeks ago, I went on a Matrix Trilogy marathon on a whim. I was randomly searching for films to watch in Netflix when I saw two Matrix films available for online streaming. I saw the first of the series but never went to see the next ones. I thought of watching the sequels then and there when I realized that it's been over a decade since I saw the first. Vaguely remembering it, I rewatched the film before proceeding to the next ones. At the end, I thought it was a really well-made movie with amazing CGIs (especially the third installment), considering it was made more than half a decade ago.

So came the time when the professor asked us to find cyborgian textures. The third movie (Matrix Revolutions) immediately came into mind. I searched YouTube for Matrix videos and ripped a video or two there. I edited the videos to only show the cyborgian parts (i.e. just-machine-scenes). I removed the audio for easy Max/MSP application. Here are the videos:
