After the Tank

Doing the gig at the tank was such a new experience to me. It felt so real and so unreal at the same time.

Was I really doing this? Was this really what our class and other classes put together?
It was odd, yet, somehow refreshing.

The day consisted mostly of walking around in Manhattan and eating lunch before going to Starbucks to wait for Jeeuk.
While I was waiting for him, it felt surreal being in the city after so long of not being part of it.
My high school was located in Harlem so I would have to take the subway and the buses everyday.

I really enjoyed the city then, but as of right now, it's more of an annoyance.
Too much people at once trying to go in the same direction. Doing the same things every day.
I've done it so many times, that its become a bore to me.
Sure, trying new things is fun, but trying it at the same place for years is betting somewhat boring. Every time my friends and I want to hang out, its either in Flushing, Queens or somewhere downtown Manhattan.

Is it just me, or has the luster and the shine of Manhattan begun to wear off?

Art of Football

Football is a sport, very popular in North America, that involves a bunch of hitting with a lot of skill and talent and agility. It is also a sport that relies a lot on the coaches and their strategy. However, The game of football also contains literature. That literature is Hamlet. This game is a game of Hamlet vs. Laertes, or Hamlet vs. Claudius. Rivalries are born every day, and every sunday you can watch the wars unfold. Sometimes, there are personal hamlets. An example is when Andre Johnson and Cortland Finegan went at It during a game. Finegan must have said something to Johnson to get him upset. It can be compared to the scene where hamlet has the actors play out a scene of someone poisoning another person, which causes claudius to storm out of the room, upset.

There wars of Hamlet are not only applied to the NFL, but can be found in other leagues as well, including Pee-wee (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIfIy3DITEo&NR=1&feature=fvwp).

But the game is not about these wars. It is about champions and sportsmanship. In hamlet, one sportsman like gesture was when hamlet was about to kill claudius, but didn't because he saw that Claudius was praying. Although hamlet said he didnt want to kill him for the fear that he would go to heaven, but we would still consider it sportsman like.

Trip to the city

So on the day of the final it was either i was driving to the city or i was going to take the train. I decided the best thing to do would be to take the train. I figured there was going to be no where to park and i didn't want to have to deal with just driving in general. The train ride wasn't bad, but it was the first time i took the train into the city. The whole day was a new experience to me. I wasn't sure how difficult it was going to be getting on the right trains, changing trains, finding my way around the city, and what not. It was surprisingly a lot easier then i thought it was going the be. The trains were pretty straight forward, everything was labeled and was easy enough to figure out. The streets of New York were all labeled and finding where to go was pretty easy as well.
