Animal cruelty and Oedipus
Is it our animalistic instinct to abandon our children? Who knows. What I do know is that I am not an advocate of performing any experiments on animals that can cause potential harm. We use animal testing today, but did you know that in the 1800s, scientists performed experiments on handicapped people instead of animals? They had no rights back then, so they would be tied up and forced to consume pills, and often grew mutations. Although using unwilling animals seems more humane than using unwilling people, it still isn’t the best way to experiment with medicine.
