Hamlet Skin (Update 1)

So for this THR 104 class, we have a final project that has to do with modernizing Hamlet.

It's interesting, new and fresh, kind of confusing, creative, and so much more.
I can't really describe how I feel about it.
It's amusing to me seeing the different ideas that people have been coming up with.
It's interesting to see how other people perceive this project.
We can either do things solo or in groups.

I choose to be in a group, with Jeannie, Filippo, and Xuan.
With Jeannie because she is the one of the very few people that I got a bit closer to in our class.
Filippo because he was sitting next to us and asked if we could all be a group.
Xuan because she didn't have a group that she could be part of, and we needed the extra person.

The idea that I proposed to the group was re-doing Hamlet but in another character's perspective. At first, we thought of making videos as if the video was being streamed from someone's eyes. But that got a little complicated.

So then we decided to do something with an app.

super mario

I love Nintendo especially Super Mario series. I've been playing this game since the first one and it is a surprising news that it has been 25 years since Super Mario Bros 1 released in 1985. I'm pretty happy that I was born in 1984 before its first release. When I visited Bestbuy on Black Friday, there was an advertising Mario section. It showed videos of each Mario series, making me to remember my past life. I've played Bros 1,2,3,world,new DS,new Wii and skipped few titles between Mario World and New Super Mario Bros since I was pretty busy to prepare SAT and high school tests. Finally, Target offered me New Super Mario Wii for 10 bucks less and I had to grab this game. The photo describes the similarity and the difference between DS and Wii version.

Hit the Ice Hamlet

Hockey is a great game that is like no other. It incorporates so many different elements the individually seen in other sports. Skill, speed, smarts, teamwork, strength, quickness, agility, and teamwork. As you might be able to tell, I believe that teamwork is most important. A single player can not win games like in golf, or baseball, or even basketball. It takes a group of 5 guys who are constantly communicating and sticking up for one another to achieve victory.

Hockey also incorporates hitting which is only seen elsewhere in football and rugby. Football and rugby are the main focal points in those sports, while in hockey it is not. In hockey, hitting is just one element that can change the way a game goes. A shift in momentum can be created by a hit. A scoring chance can be created by a hit.

In hockey, every Daniel Sedin needs a Henrik Sedin ( ). In other words, every Hamlet needs a Heratio. Each person in the league needs someone they can count on that can help them succeed, help get them out of trouble, and get their back when they needed it the most, just like Heratio does for Hamlet.

Mother Courage

Mother Courage was a Brecht play that showed how damaging wars are. I read the summary of the play and didn’t understand it that much so I started reading the actual play. I actually skimmed across the a few parts and I personally don’t like the play that much. I like the fact that it wasn’t written to engage the reader in the story but rather keeping us aware it was a play. I also like the song the cook and Mother Courage sang, asking for food. The whole play was a statement against war and the hardships people faced during that time. I also read that the play was written around World War I so it made sense. This play reminds me a little of my aunt because the way Mother Courage’s kindess and caring actions carried out to others she met. -J. Ramsey

Zoos

Professor Baldwin mentioned zoos and how museums are actually similar to this. There is so much domestic information and things from around the world in zoos. i love going to the zoo. All animals are so different from one another and it is so amazing to see the way they live. I feel bad though because they are couped up in such a small area for most of them when they can be out running wild and free. Polar bears are my absolute favorite, big white tigers are awesome too. There are so many species out there and zoos can be very inspirational and interesting. You walk around and look at and talk about all the animals at the zoo on display to you just like you do at a museum. It is all their for your entertainment and interest, it can even be for very educational purposes
