Animal Cruelty

Many people have pets and love their pets just as much or more than their friends or even family members. And there are some people how have pets but they don’t take care of them, don’t feed them properly, or even abuse/beat them. Some of those people have pets or “animal guards” just for protection or just because they wanted one because it is “fun” to have a pet or because their friends have one. Animals and pets have emotions and they can feel physical pain just like humans do. Yet the way some people treat their pets is as if it is some kind of toy or ball. “Play with it when I am bored or don’t have anything else to do”, “unleash some of my anger on my pet because I had a bad day”, “ walk my dog if I feel like it”, “not think about unless I am bored or something”. I think this is how those irresponsible pet owners feel about their pets.
My ex-neighbor had a dog that he use to “discipline” so much that that dog eventually became boarder line retarded. When he got the dog, he use to let it urinate crap wherever until his grandma confronted him because he was living in his grandmas house. He was neglectful and would take care of the dog when he felt like it. He “trained” his dog so well that it became abnormal and just scared because he use to beat sooooo much. I don’t know what happened to that dog after but I am sure it is in a better place now. There are variations among the type and level of abuse of pets by their owners but the point is that they should not be treated like that. It is so sad to see people throwing puppies into the river or whatever like in youtube.
The animals that we eat are also treated badly…meaning that they are raised or kept in very confined/crowed space. They are dwelling on their own feces in big industrial farms. For example, the pigs literally stand on their shit side by side. There is much more to say about animal cruelty and why people do it intentionally or unintentionally. For now, I will say this much: the reason the pigs are standing on their feces is because the corporations are able to fit more pigs in a given space which is directly related to maximizing profits. Cows are feed corn instead of grass because it is cheaper for the farmers/food corporations and that’s how can get more for what they produce. Raising and feeding pigs and cows like that may not seem like animal cruelty but it actually is, I think.
