Lady Gaga and Jessica Simpson

Last week in class we talked about Lady Gaga and Jessica Simpson and how different they are. Lady Gaga represents the stranger side of society. The people that are not within the social norm. Jessica Simpson embodies the "typical" idea of the All-American girl. The artists seem to be polar opposites. Lady Gaga is more unique and flashy with her fashion sense. Jessica Simpson is more of what we would consider "normal". Their music and they way they perform it also contrasts. Jessica Simpson sings pop music about boys and having fun. Lady Gaga's music is has more of an electronic feel to it and the lyrics and performances have to do with things outside of the social norm.
