Sexual Powers

According to the theory of sexual selection the male organisms possess certain sexual and dominant characteristics which they use to their advantage in order to lure the females in to mate. They use these as a tool, to choose the women that they want. They look for fertile females who would be able to bear children. Of coarse they also look into the secondary sexual characteristics; what the female looks like, if she's attractive enough to mate with the dominant male figure. However, although the males, in any species, are the ones that always ask for sex, women are the ones that truly hold the power in the situation. The entire female race has the power to say no and deny any man of his sexual urges. Women are truly underrated in this situation. Men believe that because they have the ability to lure any women in, that they can get sex whenever they want. However, they are forgetting the simple fact that although they may lure us in with their charm, we have them wrapped around our fingers with the power of denial.
We see this sort of situation unfold in the Plays by Roswitha. Dulcitius, governor of Thessalonica was under the impression that simply because he was a dominant male figure in society, he would be able to persuade the three sisters, who believed greatly in their faith, to have sex with him. Although the soldiers told him that it was impossible he refused to listen to them. He stated that if his words wouldn't charm them, he'll easily turn to another method and get them to sleep with him. However, he was quickly proven wrong when instead of wooing the sisters to fall in love with him he was possessed and ended up having sex with the pots and pans in the kitchen. This was a comical of stating the fact, but it proved the simple point nontheless. This is simply a fact of life, one that will remain intact for eternity.
